I thought they may be, but the news story that Ray's dad is watching on his death states that he was taken out by a PD squad. Which, OK, mr. bad-guy could've somehow fixed it so that was the story that came out, but even still, Ray was riddled with dozens of bullets, and it didn't look like that was on Vinci land. Any investigation into Ray's death would've blown everything over. It's too extraordinary to be believable and was just a let down.

Vinci is owned top to bottom. Easy to cover up. Move body, pay a few cops to have a story, and what investigation will there be? Which is kind of the whole point...Caspere got fucked because he tried to buck the system...Frank did too.

Viewers way up from E7, but still about 22% lower than the Season 1 finale.

Re: The TV Show Thread *Possible Spoilers* - SlimKlim - 09-28-2015

Anyone watching Fear the Walking Dead?

Lauren was super pumped for it and she likes it well enough, I was skeptical and now that the season is almost over I think well justified.

Its the same problem I have with the original series, and I'll probably get crucified because I know everyone loves it, but the pacing is just too goddamn slow. I don't know how many episodes they spent attempting to get in and out of Atlanta to get some guns in the first season of the Walking Dead, but it was too goddamn many. Same issue with this show, we get it, there are zombies, people are under martial law and the sick people are being rounded up. That's a freaking prelude, not an entire season.

i've stopped watching the walking dead for this reason. i was super gung-ho the first season and it just got more predictable and boring, and then almost offensively cheesy with the whole Woodbury saga.

same thing with FTWD....started off interesting, then cue the characters making the most retarded decisions, predictable dramatic setup...its just not possible for me to invest any emotion in it anymore or feel that anything is really at stake. shame.

Re: The TV Show Thread *Possible Spoilers* - JPolen01 - 09-28-2015

I watched one episode of the new series. Yawn. Will continue to watch the original because of time already invested. They have promised to get them out of the woods and into some action so I will see if they come through.

I'd like to see the same premise of FTWD, a show that starts the day-of a zombie apocalypse, but I'd like to see it from the perspective of people who actually matter in the world, not some dipshit family who takes an entire season to realize that zombies are dangerous and maybe they should listen to the fucking military and focus on arming/protecting themselves instead of trying to fight the man for oppressing their right to run freely into a zombie horde.

I'm thinking like a mix between Walking Dead and West Wing or something. How the President and Military higher-ups would attempt to control the situation before ultimately failing, and then the show could watch them try to regain some sort of post-apocalyptic order or something. Just a faster paced show with more important, intelligent characters.

Re: The TV Show Thread *Possible Spoilers* - HAULN-SS - 09-28-2015

Third episode was decent - Haven't watched the most recent one. First two were pretty boring. Fourth was the most boring. I was expecting 4 to be a get the hell out of dodge episode and it wasn't. Kind of reminded me of TWD when they stayed in that town and had that annoying ass blonde girl buddying up with the governor. Man, she sucked as a character. Hope the dad in FTWD isn't the male version of that character.

Re: The TV Show Thread *Possible Spoilers* - G.Irish - 11-23-2015

I figured as much but I was starting to feel hateful about the show. Killing all of my favorite characters to the point I wanted to see the White Walkers win.

I just hope we get to see muthafuckin' CLEGANEBOWL this season

Bran takes over Jon's body?!??! I was wondering when they were going to bring him back into the story. I was also at the point of walking away from the show but now...April couldn't come sooner!

I am. It's crazy how much better it is than the 1st season. Mike Milligan might be my favorite character on TV right now

Re: The TV Show Thread *Possible Spoilers* - JPolen01 - 05-26-2016

With HBO Programming President Michael Lombardo stepping down there are rumors that True Detective will be scrapped in favor of a new Nic Pizzolatto project. I will be very disappointed if this happens. Season 1 was one of the best short tv series I have ever watched. Writing, acting, cinematography were all outstanding. Season 2 left a lot to be desired, but I had hopes that they would bring in new writers and bring season 3 back to the type of show season 1 was.

Re: The TV Show Thread *Possible Spoilers* - ScottyB - 05-26-2016

sucks. i agree season 1 was a treasure...just amazing acting/pacing/cinema/story arc. also agree that 2 was not even in the same ballpark.

i trust HBO has a good finger on the pulse of quality projects but i'll be bummed to see the series go if it does, after only 2 seasons. the overall format of the show makes a great platform for good stories.

Any of you guys watched Peaky Blinders? I'm hooked, waiting on season 3 to pop up on netflix
