I don't make much money, but I can afford Yuengling or something.

But yes, 100% in for that.

Lol. When did you go back to school, Justin?

I figured I could slum it with the common folk every now and then.

I tried to drink Natty once after graduating. Just couldn't bring myself to do it. I'd almost prefer sobriety, almost.

Jake, you know I understand what you are saying. I'm not disagreeing with you. Just some members in the club aren't as much into it as you were and some are. It happens.

For sure - and I'm not calling you out specifically, this just seems to have turned into a spot for us to vent/explain a lil' so... I did Big Grin

I really enjoy showing up to everything MM does (I think I've been to more things than any freshmen so far), but I'm not too sure about this weekend. I couldn't make it to VIR because I was working and honestly, I need money. I might try to stop by this weekend for the AutoX, but again, I'm busy Sunday morning. I really don't think I'd be comfortable racing someone else's car, and my truck isn't going to cut it, so I'd just spectate.

Now, Karting, I'll be sure to ask off work for that and keep my schedule clear.

I don't want you guys to think that new members aren't interested!

It'd be great to meet you if you can make it out. Rides are always free, just grab a helmet and ask someone. We can still get you hooked even if you don't drive.

Don't sweat it though. We understand that you can't make every event. It is a great way to connect with the large portion of the club that consists of alumni (or just us guys who hang around).

So has any kind of decision been made about who is going to get to have a heat in Jake's car? I have been asking about it since the night it was offered up and I have still heard nothing... I also wanted to know if I could count this as my freebie autox from MM for this event. I have been waiting to hear back but nothing as of yet. Unfortunately if I don't hear anything soon registration will close, but I also need to know how to go about getting my one free autox from MM, due to being on a tight budget. I started autox'ing back in 05 and hoped I would get to do it again after being on hiatus since going back to school.

Re: BRR-SCCA College Challenge Auto-X: Oct. 20th @ Verona - JPolen01 - 10-17-2013

The free autox is only for members who have never done an autox before in their life. As far as jakes codrive, I think a few people have asked so it will most likely be a random drawing.

Just a heads up, I missed the meeting but registered for the event on Tues. Looking forward to it.

Aloha!

Been a long time since I've posted on here... I'm Kevin from CCVT.

Yes this week is our "Fall break" and a couple members have gone home for the weekend, but that won't really affect our attendance. We have a bunch of people planning on going, with I think 7 racing. Looking forward to some friendly competition tomorrow!

Also, I have to give a friend a ride up to JMU in the morning. Are you all planning on meeting up somewhere before heading to the autocross? I should be in Harrisonburg around 8:30am or so

We are going to be leaving right before then. We plan on getting to Verona around 830 when registration first starts. We are meeting at 750 in R1 (baseball lot)

Great turnout today guys! Had an absolute blast out there and it looked like all of you did. Unfortunately we didn't take the trophy home, but we'll get it back next year! Ray was thoroughly impressed with the turnout and everyone's willingness to help out!

Re: BRR-SCCA College Challenge Auto-X: Oct. 20th @ Verona - Jake - 10-21-2013

Had a great time yesterday! Pretty impressed with the turnout from MM, although I wish more schools would have showed. Unfortunately, it's just difficult to get a lot of clubs to meet up, particularly when some of them are more "show and shine" focused than us and CCVT.

Anyway, lotta first-timers out there who drive the nuts off of their cars. Seemed like everyone made improvements to their times/driving throughout the day and got plenty of ride-alongs.

Results should be up later today, I think. If I remember to check, I'll post them up.
