I really liked the pictures, but before I even realized it was a Sky, I was all "wtf are all those holes in the front for?" I give it a: meh. New Sky vs. New Solstice vs. used S2000 = you're a flaming moron if you don't get the S2000. Redline might be a different story. - SameeRR - 05-22-2006 I drove that car back in December. I wasn't too pleased - afterall, its still a Saturn. - JustinG - 05-22-2006 is the s2000 even considered its competition??? im assuming so but yeah you would be an idiot not to get som VTAK - .RJ - 05-22-2006 white97dsm Wrote:you would be an idiot not to get som VTAK Why? - Sijray21 - 05-22-2006 white97dsm Wrote:is the s2000 even considered its competition??? im assuming so but yeah you would be an idiot not to get som VTAK a used one will put it in the price range, but a new S2k is way out of the price range for these cars. - JustinG - 05-22-2006 Why? cause its an s2000 - .RJ - 05-22-2006 white97dsm Wrote:Why? cause its an s2000 Other than being a lemming fanboi, this argument has no merit. I'd rather have a turbo 2.4L than a torqueless 2.0L.... Having not driven a Sky I cant comment on which makes a better street car, but I'd be sure to go drive one before I did. - Evan - 05-22-2006 .RJ Wrote:I'd rather have a turbo 2.4L...and a warranty... The whole "new" vs "used" comparisons arent very applicable. - Feersty - 05-22-2006 SameeRR Wrote:I wasn't too pleased - afterall, its still a Saturn. I think this is a dumb comment as well, at least GM is on the come up. - WRXtranceformed - 05-22-2006 If the Sky was b00sted I'd definitely hit it. - Evan - 05-22-2006 WRXtranceformed Wrote:If the Sky was b00sted I'd definitely hit it.did you even read the first post donkey? ![]() white97dsm Wrote:Redline version, 260 hp and 260 ft lbs, 2.0L DVVT turbo & intercooled, RWD w/ LSD. - WRXtranceformed - 05-22-2006 Evan Wrote:The answer should be very clear to this :!:WRXtranceformed Wrote:If the Sky was b00sted I'd definitely hit it.did you even read the first post donkey? - bassmangrammy - 05-23-2006 Lee... don't worry, your STi will take the turbo sky. - karioth - 05-25-2006 SameeRR Wrote:I drove that car back in December. I was waiting for someone to say that. Saturn's are teh suck, girlfriend has one (1999 SC2) with 74k miles that burns oil, has a loose motor mount, and a check engine light with the will of the warrior. My craptacular 87 Nissan Pulsar with almost 100k miles has no problems at all... except for the fuel and temp guage intermittently working .. which started literally today... at the inspection station >.< - G.Irish - 05-25-2006 Evan Wrote:.RJ Wrote:I'd rather have a turbo 2.4L...and a warranty... Yeah not a fair comparison. Cause then someone could say "Well if I boosted a 94 Miata..." I haven't seen any head to head tests but I wouldn't be surprised if the Sky Redline/Solstice GXP were close to the S2000 or faster in a straight line and at least competitive around the track. They're both a bit cheaper so that'd be a good achievement for GM. The S2000 is somewhat long in tooth now anyway, Honda should already have a replacement well on in development by now. But if they didn't I wouldn't be surprised . |
