Man I know....if it's newer it's gotta be mint but I'm not sure I could deal with an older car.

Since we're just brainstorming bad ideas here, is this a particularly bad one?

It's not white...it is my second color choice, but it has everything else I want....

This early in my search I dunno if I'm ready to give up on my #1 choice of white?

RE: WTF should I buy (A consolidated list of bad decisions) - Apoc - 02-26-2018

Not for that color. Red, white, blue, or GTFO.

RE: WTF should I buy (A consolidated list of bad decisions) - .RJ - 02-26-2018

I said that too, but I also had far fewer choices

Seems like more and more 15s are coming in off lease....but I have the patience of a 2yr old.

My preference for color in order, White, Blue, Gray, Black, Red

RE: WTF should I buy (A consolidated list of bad decisions) - .RJ - 02-26-2018

My last 3 or 4 cars I didnt get my preferred color.

After about 3 days I forgot about it, usually because my buyers remorse drowns it out.

Wait for the EXACT color you want. I have compromised a couple times and it was the difference between "liking" a car and loving it.

+1, get the color you want. These aren't *that* hard to find.

Agree, the main reason I jumped was #1 color choice. And, yeah, since you are not set on the less opted brakes and suspension, you should have no problem finding the right one in a reasonable time.

RE: WTF should I buy (A consolidated list of bad decisions) - Apoc - 02-26-2018

FWIW, I waited ~3 months to find what I wanted... and the color just happened to be white. When I was buying, anything decently priced was getting snapped up in a matter of days.

Any idea why used TTRS's are so relatively cheap? If you're looking for an MT roadster and don't care about a big ole V8, I don't see why this wouldn't be one of your top options

$35k for a 6 year old Audi with 40k miles? Yep, super cheap [emoji6]

They were only $55 to 60 new. Not that huge of a depreciation curve IMO.

I shopped them against my 135.  The "cheap" ones had some miles on them and were high $30's

The lower mileage cars seemed to be selling for mid-high $40's.

Neat car, but not really "cheap".  A new Golf R would be less.

RE: WTF should I buy (A consolidated list of bad decisions) - WRXtranceformed - 02-26-2018

Yeah I saw a lowish mile I want to say like 22k for mid 30s. I was kind of floored

RE: WTF should I buy (A consolidated list of bad decisions) - WRXtranceformed - 03-01-2018

I've kind of given up for now in looking for another option, there's nothing that really "does it" for me that stands out in the sub $40k range. I think the closest I got was either a CPO S4 or SQ5 or a medium-miled twin turbo M5. I also believe it or not gave the Golf R (the previous front fascia before the newest one) a hard look. I've just never fancied myself as a hatchback kind of guy.

Joey thinks I should wait on the new Supra. I'm going to keep my eyes on the new Ranger when it drops and see if they bring a Raptor stateside. Hopefully that will give some time for the newer F150 Raptor pricing to come down from the clouds

RE: WTF should I buy (A consolidated list of bad decisions) - rherold9 - 03-01-2018

Isn't the Supra slated to be in the $50-60k range?

Edit: Just like the Z4?

I haven't seen any prices on it but that was my exact counterpoint.  I would be surprised if they sold for less than $50k MSRP.  From the spy shots I've seen they don't look particularly attractive either, but I'll reserve judgment until they announce it I think in March?

Really want one of these.

Maybe if we can hold off on another car purchase until the fall, I'll have the wagon paid for and some money set aside.  I saw one at carmax for $23k but it was gone the next day, I think it wasnt priced correctly.  I'd happily add on their warranty at that price.
