Re: T-Shirt Design Ideas - xvxax - 08-05-2011

Love it. Lets do it, but may I request a second optional design with an e36, the other official ride of Madison Motorsports. Seriously though, I'll take one.

Re: T-Shirt Design Ideas - Sully - 08-05-2011

That is an awesome design for our new shirt for the year. Even without the cones, I think it works fine. I am hoping once everything is finalized to get the shirts run in a "few" different colors incoporating MM or JMU colors or neutral ones but I have enough black shirts and trying to rock anything MM while working VIR in July is just torture.

That design would be cool for the college autocross, perhaps too cool [Image: 1shifty.gif] but we would have to ditch the M's in that case which is why I like that design better for our shirts.

Incorporate desgin on back? :dunno:
Has anyone seen the spaco tach shirts, maybe take a tach and put it on the back in a moderately large format and redline is MM like spaco's is S...Maybe? Thoughts? I know cost would be slightly higher but I think a shirt that really steps away from club apparel to what we are..."dedicated" apparel

Re: T-Shirt Design Ideas - Sully - 08-05-2011

One Miata and One e36

and One e30 [Image: 1shifty.gif]

Honestly I would probably buy all three, not guna lie. But at that point, than we would need all the honda's and subys and it could get out of hand very quickly.

Re: T-Shirt Design Ideas - ScottyB - 08-05-2011

if you guys keep requesting cars you're going to get a family truckster, and you're going to like it.

Re: T-Shirt Design Ideas - Ryan T - 08-05-2011

I like the design/idea but I think we should have some shirts with either a generic car or no car. I just don't see myself wearing a car with a miata or bmw on it :dunno: People would probably just think were a miata club.

Re: T-Shirt Design Ideas - Sully - 08-05-2011

I'd buy that one too [Image: 1shifty.gif]

Only for the LULZ, I promise

Re: T-Shirt Design Ideas - Sully - 08-05-2011

That Miata looks pretty Generic, not sure how much more generic silouettish you could go without it looking wierd

Re: T-Shirt Design Ideas - Sully - 08-05-2011

This is what I meant by the spaco shirt, I'm not as good as Scotty and only have MS Paint at my disposal

Re: T-Shirt Design Ideas - ScottyB - 08-05-2011

in all seriousness I'd be willing to do 3 version:

- miata for the japanese/homo roadster crowd
- E36 for the eurotrashers
- stang/vette for the rednecks

does that cover everyone? if we left a car out of the picture entirely it would look like...we forgot something. we're car guys, so lets have some cars.

in an attempt to please everyone the cars will look a bit generic i guess. its a simple, smallish graphic (the car part) and we're color limited.

Re: T-Shirt Design Ideas - xvxax - 08-05-2011

Didn't mean to open can of worms with e36 joke. Leave the miata, it's already done and ready.

Re: T-Shirt Design Ideas - Sully - 08-05-2011

Scotty, do you have any input on the Tach on the back idea, maybe move the Madison Motorsports up to where a model designation would be. Miata's and M3's would work for most and I believe the level of detail on the miata you posted is perfect. Not too much but enough to know its a car and if you are truely a car person, you can pick out that it is in fact an NB Miata. Plus it looks happy like its smiling

What if we are Redneck Homo Roadster EuroTrash? [Image: 1shifty.gif]

Step 1 Put e36 and Miata on Shirt
Step 2.....
Step 3 Profit

e36 with Dj's old mega ballin wing FTW

Re: T-Shirt Design Ideas - ScottyB - 08-05-2011

well, these were just drafts, but my point was that if you guys could all come to agreement on it i'd be willing to do it.

In all seriousness, give me the Miata based shirt as the offering from MM. It's generic enough and to those who would recognize the car, it represents the grassroots nature of the club.

If I want a C4 on my shirt, I will offer to pay Scott to develop it and pay a local t-shirt shop to print them for me.

Re: T-Shirt Design Ideas - JustinG - 08-07-2011

agreed, only one shirt should be made, its the clubs generic shirt not a custom apparel order. I think the Miata fits perfectly.

Re: T-Shirt Design Ideas - Nis01 - 08-07-2011

Just read through this thread. Design looks good Scotty, clean and simple.

Re: T-Shirt Design Ideas - Sully - 08-08-2011

Jokes aside, the Miata shirt would be more than enough, and besides we can always run a different shirt with a different car at a later time or something.

We still need a perhaps more simple and less MM based design for the College Autocross everybody!

This.

Re: T-Shirt Design Ideas - ScottyB - 08-08-2011

OK, so sticking with the miata. i agree it embodies all the simple track car mentality the club is about, that's what i thought of it initially. anyone who knows motorsports immediately identifies with a miata.

so changes include adding the missing mirror, more pronounced intake shadow and brake ducts, windshield shine, and the halftone shading to keep it from looking too flat. thought i'd try red thinking it would look more performance and would help the MM stand out more. you like? or go back to yellow (or some other color)? again i have no idea what the budget is and if you guys are willing to include more color into the design.

also, i should have thought of this earlier but if we put this on a black shirt, white/yellow colors will stand out much better than reds or blues, so we need to be mindful of overusing that.

Re: T-Shirt Design Ideas - Jake - 08-08-2011

I like this newest mockup a lot. I agree that too much red could be a problem. The red Miata is a better look IMO than the yellow... and they did make a crapton of red ones. I wonder what one more color would do for adding cost. We've had four-color shirts before (the "cone" design is yellow, white, orange, gray) so I think it could be done and stay within a decent budget.

so a move in the right direction. it did bother me as well that there really aren't any yellow NB's out there, very rare.

how about white?
