There may have been other issues at play there, but I still wouldn't buy cheap rotors for a fat car...

If remember correctly that happened braking for turn 1 at summit, no?

I'll never forget when you where pulling off the wheel to see what was wrong, and then started laughing because it was the strangest brake problem we'd ever seen. I was actually just telling a bunch of the formula SAE guys who were designing the rotors about that, now I have a picture to show them.

SAMSONITE!!! I was way off.

cracked one of my front rotors after some Summit punishment back in October. mostly due to the pads on one side wearing uneven because I didn't have the caliper slide tight enough :x

Anyways, just get cheap rotors and upgrade pads to a street/autox pad like the carbotech Axxis Ultimates. You'll be surprised at the difference. Call Matt at Carbotech and tell him the MM guys sent you: 877-899-5024. You'll get a 10% discount if you are a NASA member.

Make sure you clean and lube your slide pins with every pad change - or sooner... if the car hasnt been on track in a while, do all 4 calipers.

yeah thanks, I finally did the fronts when I put on new XP-8's. I'm adding this step to my maintenance from now on. live and learn!

damn that sucks... yeah we after all these scary and informational inputs from you guys i just got the plain jane rotors from meineke. I didn't want to spend money on drilled or slotted to just have em crack. Maybe when I have to replace again i'll look at doing lines claipers and pads along with the rotors... ugrading the whole thing at the same time would be a lot more fun.

THANKS FOR THE HELP!!

But the hands on experience you kind of missed..but plain jane is a good choice.
