- .RJ - 01-23-2007 Napa wanted $50 :!: for a half gallon bucket of carb cleaner... f that. Advance auto, $10 each. Those things are going to need to soak for a few days... maybe this weekend. - .RJ - 01-23-2007 So, I start soaking the other set of carbs.... look at carb #2. Fuck. I'm going to see if the machine shop near my house has any better luck with getting that stuck jet out than I did. - .paul - 01-23-2007 i have faith you will get this running - .RJ - 01-23-2007 .paul Wrote:i have faith you will get this running Did feersty hijack paul's account? Are you patiently waiting? ![]() Hopefully the good ol' boys at ffx auto parts can hook a brotha up. - .paul - 01-24-2007 i just want to ride the bitch i was just saying i have faith cause i figured someone may post "time to sell it" - .RJ - 01-24-2007 Machine shop cant get the jet out. Time to find another set of f'ing carbs. These are looking like a reasonable purchase right now: http://www.400fourstore.com/Merchant2/m ... ory_Code=E - .RJ - 01-24-2007 Jackpot: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayI ... Track=true - ScottyB - 01-24-2007 nice find...snipe that biatch! - .RJ - 02-01-2007 I'd like to take a minute and extend a hearty "PHUCK YOU" to USPS. Well, I bought another set of carbs. They were supposed to be delivered today, and this afternoon their virtually useless online tracking system said the package was "delivered at residence". Sweet, right? So instead of going home after work I go to the gym. I get home, at 5pm, and no package. A notice in my mailbox to pick it up at the post office. No, it wasnt delivered. Post office closes at... 5pm. I went there anyways, hoping someone would still give me the box - I Knocked on the little door, and everyone behind it went silent and waited for me to leave. Thanks guys. I check the tracking now, and it says "notice left". Seriously, good job guys. Well done. Why cant you just leave the package at the doorstep? I'm going to insist everything is shipped via FedEx from now on. They're the only ones that dont manage to fuck anything up. - Apoc - 02-01-2007 .RJ Wrote:Why cant you just leave the package at the doorstep? Probably because the shipper sent it via a method that required signature. - .RJ - 02-01-2007 USPS priority doesnt require signature - Apoc - 02-01-2007 No insurance or delivery confirmation? In the old neighborhood, sometimes our carrier would take the package back to the post office if he thought it was in danger of being stolen. It's an inconvience but I appreciate the consideration. - .RJ - 02-01-2007 Well, with USPS half the time the packages ARE left on the step. Half the time they're not. If they're small enough they go in the mailbox. Meanwhile, there was a huge box from Amazon sitting on the step. Next place I move to i'm just going to slip the mailman $50 and tell him to put it around back/in the garage and leave a note on the door. - Feersty - 02-02-2007 For security purposes FedEx and UPS would hide our packages under our "Welcome" mat even if the package was three times the width..lol. - .RJ - 02-02-2007 I picked up the package this morning - the lady at the desk said its up to the carriers discretion whether to leave the package or not. Argh. - Beej - 02-02-2007 .RJ Wrote:I picked up the package this morning - the lady at the desk said its up to the carriers discretion whether to leave the package or not.I think that's pretty much universal policy. All areas and drivers are different, so it has to be subjective. - .RJ - 02-02-2007 Well as soon as I move, I'll just help the guy make the right call
- ScottyB - 02-02-2007 if it's any condolence, UPS damaged my shortblock and it's being returned to the people i bought it from to look the damage over (another week of down time at least). the best part? time of delivery shows up in the tracker as 10:52 PM. the shop says they never even saw the package, it wasn't delivered. what the hell? - Ginger - 02-02-2007 Call me crazy, but the problem isn't that they leave packages sometimes and not others... it's that the web agent said the package was at home waiting and was wrong. - .RJ - 02-02-2007 Haha, bitches! F j00 carbamaphones! It runs! Carbs need a little more sorting out and need to be balanced - but it seems like it runs pretty good on the stand. I'll be picking up new plugs tomorrow and hopefully have it wrapped up sunday. |
