BTW, my uncle has 2 MGBs - ones a parts car and the other still runs. I could give you his number if interested - he could probably tell you what to expect. Think he has had them for 15 years or so.

i think if you're really hell bent on getting an MG (i agree that a datsun roadster is better, especially as an investment instead of a money pit) i think it would be wise to keep up what you're doing with looking at well restored or taken care of examples. theres just so much that can go wrong with that car.
