- JackoliciousLegs - 04-28-2004 1997 BMW M3 ÔÇö $19,750, Black 4DR Sedan, 53300 Miles, Manual Transmission -- * Meticulously Maintained with all service records. Car is spectacularly clean. Professionally detailed every Spring and always garaged. Never raced, wrecked, or smoked in. Seeing stuff like this makes me want to graduate... NOW - Mike - 04-28-2004 Better prices are around. - .RJ - 04-28-2004 MichaelJComputer Wrote:Better prices are around. Definately. - JohnC - 04-28-2004 I've seen pretty decent examples of 95s for under $15k. Our price range will probably go up to $20k, which will buy one helluva nice M3 8) Or, as Gerald and were chatting about yesterday, a decent M3 and a kart  - .RJ - 04-28-2004 Or M3 and maintenance and tires and brake pads (that shit will add up fast). - Evan - 04-28-2004 Go 2dr, not 4. The 4dr is not only slightly heavier, but it messes up the weight distrubution, which as I have learned with the miata is the most important factor in balance and handling. (moreso even than drive wheels) The biggest drawback to the car is its weight. ~3200 lb at the lightest. If I ever get one, I plan on gutting it, and doing whatever cheap lightening I can, but even so the car is heavy. Even the M3 LTW was still a hair under 3000lb, and it had aluminum doors and other expensive stuff. - .RJ - 04-28-2004 Heh... weight distribution. Thats funny. - Evan - 04-28-2004 glad you find it funny mr. fwd shitpile - .RJ - 04-28-2004 Exactly why its amusing - G.Irish - 04-28-2004 Damn guys if you're gonna be gutting an M3 why not just buy a racecar. It'll cost less, already have a weld-in cage (unless you're stupid like me), and it will be similar in speed. Oh, and you can resell something like an ITS BMW easier than a gutted M3 that doesn't really fit in anywhere except maybe BMWCCA. Then again, I don't know what the market is like on the BMW forums. - JackoliciousLegs - 04-28-2004 I'd buy it for the same purpose as Mike, I think.... A daily driver. I know it's a tough concept guys.... but I probably would use another car   as my track bitch. A 4door with an extra 20 lbs (according to BMW) would be a great car methinks. - Mike - 04-28-2004 Oh yeah, don't bother saying a 325 would be a better alternative for the street. I have weighed both options and I want an M3 ![]() edit: My comments have nothign to do with Jack's post, I just wanted to get that out of me in general. I knew Chan would probably say something sooner or later "Why not save $15k and get a 325?"
- .RJ - 04-28-2004 Chan would do anything to save $15... |
