Negotiate for some extra cash in the deal. Also, get a solid estimate of the cost of repairing the SC. That will give you more bargaining leverage. - Nick325is - 04-12-2006 I really like your 240 more. You seem to have put alot of work into it hence making it worth alot more than the SC. Change the motor mounts and keep the 240. Nick - BLAIR - 04-12-2006 body damage and paint work would be done myself and by freinds for minimal amount of money. the amount i can sell the wheels and the diff from the 240 (that the guy says i can keep) should be more than enough to pay for the repairs both cars have about 10k into them. both would go for 7-8k if being sold. im not to worried about the labor, time, and blood i have into the car. I do that for fun and to learn im sure if the LSD was in and i were attending drift events there is no way id sell the 240. but with the costs of events now i cant even afford to enter, let alone keep tires on it haha. the 240 just really isnt to praticle to have right now.. i think the SC would be. shit and if i really regreted selling the 240. i could just build another one later. it wasnt to hard at all as of now im leaning towards the trade.. but i wont know for sure till i check it out and he check out my car on friday - .RJ - 04-12-2006 Keep the 240 Its sweet!

That's crazy expensive for a parking lot. - BLAIR - 04-12-2006 Andy Wrote:BLAIR Wrote:G.Irish Wrote:BLAIR Wrote:im sure if the LSD was in and i were attending drift events there is no way id sell the 240. but with the costs of events now i cant even afford to enter, let alone keep tires on it haha. well thats the thing.. they have moved from parking lots to actual tracks.. so im sure thats why its more - G.Irish - 04-12-2006 No more parking lot events? That does kind suck because you'll never get a cheap day at a track, especially when there are plenty of other organizations willing to pay full price to rent the track. - BLAIR - 04-12-2006 G.Irish Wrote:No more parking lot events? YEP.. it sucks..i cant afford to enter a drift event till im done with school - Maengelito - 04-12-2006 sorry blair, your 240 is too hot. you'd be a damn fool to trade - Evan - 04-12-2006 No - Evan - 04-12-2006 BLAIR Wrote:all day events are REDICULOUS NOW.. the last one at VIR was like 200 bucks.. and all day events are 125-150 bucks now.. not to mention needing tires etc etc. they are getting more main stream, the small local events seem to be disapearing. the scene is getting WHORED out quicklythats not rediculous. Thats track rental. Its expensive. Real tracks are a whole different game from parking lots - BLAIR - 04-12-2006 Evan Wrote:BLAIR Wrote:all day events are REDICULOUS NOW.. the last one at VIR was like 200 bucks.. and all day events are 125-150 bucks now.. not to mention needing tires etc etc. they are getting more main stream, the small local events seem to be disapearing. the scene is getting WHORED out quicklythats not rediculous. Thats track rental. Its expensive. when i was paying 50-75 bucks for an all day event its rediculous now. i know a real track is a whole different game but i like the idea of being in a big ass lot not having to worry about hitting anything or going off track and all that. Ill just have to wait to do events till im out of school and making money - G.Irish - 04-12-2006 Yeah a 400% price increase is somewhat outrageous. Was there any particular reason for the switch? Did they lose access to some parking lots or something? - BLAIR - 04-12-2006 G.Irish Wrote:Yeah a 400% price increase is somewhat outrageous. Was there any particular reason for the switch? Did they lose access to some parking lots or something? Yep.. pretty sure they lost em all... only places that will allow it now are tracks - Dave - 04-12-2006 Knowing that you have been wanting an SC for so long, and considering the mods on this, I think you should do the trade. Building 240s is really cheap nowadays, and you've been through the hoops once already so you know all the tricks. Plus, IIRC, your 10k estimate includes the parts you'll get to keep, correct? So that really means that you only have 8.5k into it, assuming that you can sell the parts for their original price. If this car is in as good a shape as you think, and the damage isn't bad, I don't see why this wouldn't be a good deal, considering the rarity of the 5spd SC. Do it. - D_Eclipse9916 - 04-13-2006 do it, that guy's car is hot in person. Those pictures dont do it justice. SCs are way more badass and classy than a 240 - Myuki - 04-15-2006 if you want it, then go for it. You were excited to get the 240 and work on it, so now, if you're excited about the possibility of getting this, I don't se why not. You said you liked t for a while now. Someone said 240s are rare, well, there are a lot of them around the RIC, and most have something done to them, a few are the daily driver for some middle aged woman going to work. However, There is one SC that I know of, and it's some black guy up the street. All the others are just basic SCs. So, you have to look at what you want. Wasn't the 240 a project car? and now that you're finished with the project you can move on. If you feel lik eyou got a bad deal later, you can look for something else, or get another 240, which may become difficult for a decent price as the drift scene keeps growing, so there's a small con. It's your choice in the end, so do wat you think is the best for you at this time, and for the near future. - BLAIR - 04-16-2006 got the LEX.. and i fuckin love the shit out of it like no other.. no regrets at all  |
