- .RJ - 09-12-2005 dammit.... Honda > Saturn Not by much though. - Myuki - 09-12-2005 I like it. Agreement on the turbo version, and it did remind me of the Opel Speedster. they claim it's pretty much 50 50 weight distribution, and I'm guessing it won't be anything cheap on it's body. It still should price well hopefully, their new slogan hints at it. - .RJ - 09-12-2005 Myuki Wrote:I'm guessing it won't be anything cheap on it's body. The Solstice is definitely cool looking, but I am feeling the Sky more. ![]()
- CaptainHenreh - 09-12-2005 Evan Wrote:thats what they said about the solstice, but its over $20k base MSRP of a Solstice is 19,995...which is below 20K. Admittedly, not by much. But, you'll notice that the SRT-4 isn't "below 20K" anymore, and even though it has more horsepower, I'd rather have a Sky. - JackoliciousLegs - 09-12-2005 man.. that's a saturn i might consider... hmmmm.... - Mike - 09-12-2005 i've heard quotes of 25k for the sky... they are about as well-backed as rj's 20k figure, though. - Kaan - 09-12-2005 they said in car and driver that the GM crapper would be about 20-25k... and was killed in every area by the new miata ... well in all areas but the price. - ScottyB - 09-12-2005 Kaan Wrote:they said in car and driver that the GM crapper would be about 20-25k... and was killed in every area by the new miata ... well in all areas but the price. true, but if it's supercharged like they are predicting, and if it responds as well as other SC'ed GM applications, then a pulley upgrade and a few supporting mods would probably be an easy 40+ horsepower. not to mention that this car will probably be more usable than a miata in terms of space - Mike - 09-12-2005 Kaan Wrote:they said in car and driver that the GM crapper would be about 20-25k... and was killed in every area by the new miata ... well in all areas but the price. no doubt, but it is far hotter looking and way less fag. - Kaan - 09-12-2005 the tested production models of both... toe to toe... sure its less "faggy"... but it just out performs that pontiac crap... - Feersty - 09-12-2005 Hopefully this Saturn Sky will not fail as much as the SC'ed Ion Redline. - REED - 09-12-2005 according to the new car mags, for the solstice and im assuming the Sky as well, the "high performance" version should have around 250hp, which sounds beast. As RJ said the miata trumps it in everything but price, and it seems like its 2 grand well worth it. Id like to see what the new "hot rod" version from the us has versus mazdaspeeds offerings in a year or two - Myuki - 09-12-2005 REED Wrote:according to the new car mags, for the solstice and im assuming the Sky as well, the "high performance" version should have around 250hp, which sounds beast. Id like to see what the new "hot rod" version from the us has versus mazdaspeeds offerings in a year or two The Kappa platform is designed to accomodate an engine as large as a V8. Although we're more likely to see a Supercharged/Turbocharged solstice, let's not rule out one of the small displacement (Probably high value) V8's in a Solstice/Sky/Other Kappa Platform Car. |
