Then I was going to put spiders in your tent. Then throw you in the river. Ol' buddy ;-) - white_2kgt - 09-02-2005 PDenbigh Wrote:white_2kgt Wrote:So there you have it bahhhhhhahhh, well you might not like me in a few years then hock:

I think they are like every 6 inches or so; seems like it would provide a decent amount of safety but I don't think I would park my M or Viper under another raised car for a long period of time. - white_2kgt - 09-03-2005 Dave Wrote:most lifts (at least the ones at the dealership) have locks that will prevent it from falling even if the hydraulics fail. Once it's up, it's not coming down. - bassmangrammy - 09-03-2005 damn....I thought chad finally saw some german light...but yeah...the rustang is cool - bimmerboodle - 09-05-2005 .RJ Wrote:Before it hits the track, replace the *entire* cooling system - radiator, hoses, water pump (wasserpumpen!), t-stat and t-stat housing (get the aluminum one). All of that shit is a ticking time bomb on those cars. Oh, and the transmission mounts, replace those too.... and the rear trailing arm bushings if you have time. Yep. Cobetto's busted the Tstat housing early this year and the tranny mounts are soft and that is the cause of the "money shift" phenomonon early in production. - bimmerboodle - 09-05-2005 white_2kgt Wrote:BLINGMW Wrote:Oh, and if you thought the mustang was easy to mis-shift on track, well good luck with this! :o A month or 2 ago in GRM there is a review of the shifters, and actually a project M3. Pretty interesting stuff - white_2kgt - 09-05-2005 bimmerboodle Wrote:white_2kgt Wrote:BLINGMW Wrote:Oh, and if you thought the mustang was easy to mis-shift on track, well good luck with this! :o yea, I gave all those issues to my buddy, a shifter is high on his list. - .RJ - 09-05-2005 white_2kgt Wrote:what's the problem w/ the radiator and water pump? Too much plastic. End tanks crack, water pump impeller cracks, t-stat housing cracks...... - WRXtranceformed - 09-05-2005 New shifter bushings and a short shifter should help clean up the slop a bit, I concur. - NaptownE36 - 09-05-2005 Well so much for a grand entrance. Chad, you stole all my thunder! I got the title Saturday so I'll get tags at lunch tomorrow... I can't f'in wait! John - white_2kgt - 09-05-2005 NaptownE36 Wrote:Well so much for a grand entrance. Awesome, So I'm taking you home after work and bringing you to my place to pick up the grocery getter
- Feersty - 09-05-2005 Great that things worked out! - Mike - 09-05-2005 Feersty Wrote:Great that things worked out! :?: what worked out? he got the title and tags? - NaptownE36 - 09-05-2005 Yeah, this process has sucked a big one. MD makes it nearly impossible to buy a car out of state from a private party... especially if you only want to make one trip (and at $200+ a trip, I was only making one!). Temp tags tomorrow, get the inspection done, perm tags Thursday. Life is good. John - Mike - 09-06-2005 what was so difficult? - white_2kgt - 09-06-2005 Mike Wrote:what was so difficult? we couldn't get temp tags w/o the title, so we towed the car back from inner jersey city, he didn't turn over the title, so it was overnighted, didn't arrive until saturday, MVA was closed monday, so no tags, no driving M3. Oh and he still has to get a MD inspection, talk about rectal exam... |
