Re: Project Turbo 10 Camaro SS - turboneticsSS - 09-11-2014

Its dip, its a pearl color.

Re: Project Turbo 10 Camaro SS - Sully - 09-11-2014

Damn, ill have to come check it out next time I'm in the burg

Edit: it's not the world rally blue pearl, us it?

Re: Project Turbo 10 Camaro SS - turboneticsSS - 09-11-2014

Its actually sazuka pearl blue, but instead of just glossifier and matte clear it has pearlizer in it too which lightened it up a bit.

Re: Project Turbo 10 Camaro SS - Sully - 09-11-2014

Oh yea. Ok. I was thinking of doing the world rally blue on the s2k with some vintage gold rims.

And yea the pearlized washes stuff out with white/silver. I was deciding between that and the gold metalized for a little flake on my white dipped gixxer but I didn't like how it put a heavy silver tinge on it even with a light coat so i did the gold. It doesn't really pop as much as I'd like but this was before the pearlizes came out so it was radical for dip at the time.

Re: Project Turbo 10 Camaro SS - turboneticsSS - 09-17-2014

Ok, so up next is meth injection, and some BC coil overs, along with a tad bit more boost(10lbs).

Not to assume, but with amount of $$ you are putting down on other things, why are you cheaping out on crappy coilovers?

Re: Project Turbo 10 Camaro SS - turboneticsSS - 09-17-2014

My choice is BC or ST, which do you recommend?

Re: Project Turbo 10 Camaro SS - JPolen01 - 09-17-2014

There are only 2 companies that make coilovers for a 2010 camaro? BC are junk stanceboi coilovers.

Re: Project Turbo 10 Camaro SS - turboneticsSS - 09-17-2014

but the ST don't go as high as I want, since I daily it I'd like to be able to go stock ride height for winter when I throw the snow shoes on

Re: Project Turbo 10 Camaro SS - D_Eclipse9916 - 09-18-2014

It's a camaro, the lower end Penske/ohlins/motion control are only 2k more and it's something you feel every time you are in the car wether on the throttle or not. I understand if it's not a priority, but a set of really good shocks changes lives.

Re: Project Turbo 10 Camaro SS - D_Eclipse9916 - 09-18-2014

Actually I want to correct myself. Call up Sam Strano. He has built a million camaro/corvette autocross setup cars and will know what combo works great for your car. This man knows setup on camaro/corvettes.

His website is a little hokie, but he will get you the best bang for the buck.

Re: Project Turbo 10 Camaro SS - turboneticsSS - 11-19-2014

So I collapsed a lifter, changing out the L99 lifters for ls7 lifters, and doing the L99 to ls3 conversion, and a cam from lunati along with small stuff like switching to LS9 head gaskets and such, and its ok, I already have a tuner and distributer who knows camaros/corvettes/gtos like the back of his hands. Holding off on coil overs and meth for now.

Re: Project Turbo 10 Camaro SS - turboneticsSS - 01-15-2015

Trying to procrastinate doing HW, so update, did the cam, with the retune I make a good bit more torque, less hp since I maxed out the injectors, so hopefully get some 80lb injectors and retune for 9-10 lbs and aim for 650whp and 700+ft lbs, with the turned down tune because of the injectors it made 515whp and 580 ft lbs, oh and Im thinking of doing some fender flares this summer.

Re: Project Turbo 10 Camaro SS - davej - 01-15-2015

Nice, you should come and do mine for the 02 at the same time, then we can race.

Re: Project Turbo 10 Camaro SS - turboneticsSS - 04-23-2015

New injectors in 105lb'ers, dyno showed that my turbo is too small, it flattened out around 4500rpm, still made 630 ft lbs at the wheels. I got the GFX body kit, but Im selling it now so I can get my methanol injection kit sooner. Other plans this summer are century built trans, and a billet 7575 going to only go up to 700whp which is a relatively safe power level for my factory ls3 bottom end.

Re: Project Turbo 10 Camaro SS - Senor_Taylor - 04-23-2015

Time to update your signature, Craftsmen!

Re: Project Turbo 10 Camaro SS - WRXtranceformed - 04-24-2015

Very impressive numbers for a stock bottom end car! What is the MM hp/torque record btw? You definitely beat my old (Travis') STI

The most I have seen at an event was back in the day at one of the shows we had at that shop...I can't remember the name for the life of me....when we were doing dyno runs and the IS300 crew drove down from northern VA. I remember Mark's old 2JZ GTE swapped single turbo IS300 (with chopped and widened stock wheels) put down a single pull of like 790whp shattering their old dyno record.

DRyFt Motorsprots !!11!!11!!

That car was badass. And we gave him the teensy tiny little "highest dyno" trophy that we ordered for that show  I have the pics on another PC.

The good ol' days..

Oh my gosh nice find!! Wow that is my old IS wayyy down there at the end. RIP IS!

I think that boosted IS300 surprised a lot of people, especially the Vette crowd that showed up. I remember some odd looks when Mark pulled a can of race gas out of his trunk

I still have the "tuner wheel" clock I won in the raffle from that event hanging in my garage Smile

Re: Project Turbo 10 Camaro SS - Senor_Taylor - 04-24-2015

Hey. My buddy has a CTS-V with an Ls6 and needs a shop to tune it. Anyone know anywhere good between Lynchburg and NC?
