Now that I have gotten used to it I wouldn't want to DD a car without a backup camera, even a Miata or something, I feel super weird backing up in the E36 and not being able to check that nothing is immediately behind/under the bumper. It's nice to know beyond a shadow of a doubt I'm not about to back over the neighbor's cat or something. It's also nice to line the back bumper up PRECISELY where you want it without having to learn by "feel."

Idk why people get so goddamn curmudgeony about stuff like that. It's 2018, we're not talking about a significant amount of extra weight or complexity for a genuinely useful safety feature.

I used to get a big peen about back up cameras, but I realized it was just a way to feel superior to people. Live and let live. They're useful.

The CEO of a company I used to work for took me for a ride in one of these, doing about 120 weaving through traffic on the interstate outside of Indianapolis.  I was a little nervous but I wasn't going to show it.  The RS4 was his daily driver, he also had an R8 as his "company car"

I did see a really nicely done blue RS4 in the parking lot of Panda Express the other day.  Then some 18 year old kid came out with his girlfriend and got in ... Dodgy

My favorite is the people who have all this backup/parking technology and still take seven tries to park 3' from the curb. I watched someone in a Tesla Model X do that the other day... ugh.
