The 330 is an E46 like your old car, so.... literally everything is different aside from the fact that they are both RWD straight-6 cars with a manual transmission.
What else is there to a car? Slightly different interiors? I'm not asking a question, I'm making a point.

Similar power and weight. To anyone not a car person is the same exact car.

"Literally everything" makes me laugh. Sure between BMWs there may be slight differences, but they're very similar cars.

I don't understand what point you're trying to make. If he wanted the exact same stuff he's been driving he would actually buy an E36 M3. If he wanted something completely different he would've gotten that GTO.

We are car people, so I thought you actually wanted to know the differences between the BMW generations and the answer is "literally everything" except the very early cars which used mildly updated engines from the 96-99 E36s and a 3-spoke steering wheel borrowed from the euro E36. Oh and maybe the brake rotors.

Ask a BMW nerd nerdy questions, get nerdy answers. :dunno:

There is a large difference between an E36 M3 and E46 330i that isnt captured by numbers.

I guess I'll need to drive both back to back to compare. Who wants to help? Big Grin

Uh, I'd like to drive that M3 one more time. I still get feels from the handful of times I got to scoot around downtown Hburg. Sigh, I need a car in my life now. I've been watching way too much Top Gear.

C'mon over buddy. I'm basically always home, just hit me up.

bidding stalled at $5800. i don't know how BAT bidding usually works (snipes like eBay), but i'd have a hard time not winning at the current price. i have absolutely no reason to own this car (i don't drive, when i do it is to go do muddy things or go long distances) other than it's something i've always wanted.

Unfortunately, I bet it'll get close to $10k. Online auctions are crazy.

Well EAG was mentioned in the listing so that should make it worth at least $27,000.

If this was after my graduation, you best believe I'd have a plane ticket to Cali in my shopping cart right now.

My old boss is selling his 2006 #6/50 911 Club Coupe. It has literally never been driven except by Porsche employees, he took deliver of the car and stored it in a climate controlled bubble. It was taken out occasionally just to run it or move it to the other side of the showroom, current mileage is 6.6.

Pretty surprised to see it on eBay of all places, seems more like wine & cheese auction type of car to me. :dunno:
