I want an F-Type so bad. Drove a V8 model a while back and guh, so nicely executed. I think a V6 S would work just fine. Can't decide on coupe or convertible because they both are fantastic.
Also, got to drive a 2005 Maserati Coup-ay last night. Manual trans, aftermarket exhaust. What a fuckin' motor... The noise was just astounding. The rest of the car was a giant "meh" - but the noise it made... Unhgggh.

^Ferrari motor right? And yeah for the f type I think I would have to go for the vert. The coupe is teh sex but drop top + active exhaust would be amazing.

Yeah I'm going to disagree. I saw a 2007-2008 vintage baby blue vantage today and it looks nothing like the higher end or newer Astons.

Base models are down in the mid 50's but you can't have the base version of this model because what would the guys at the country club say? :p

Funny this comes up here, I was just talking to Joey about this - now that the GTI is pending pickup I'm trying to save up for one of these. I've been watching youtube videos non-stop and idc about it being a base model, that supercharged V6 is outstanding.

From what I've read the V8 makes it "completely fucking terrifying" to drive, whereas the V6S makes do with just "extremely fucking fast." So basically with the V8 you pay a lot more money to have your asshole clenched a lot tighter while driving. So unless you're DJ and anything under 400hp/ton is a "momentum car," you'd proooooobably enjoy the V6 more.

Speaking as someone whose car has nothing close to what resembles traction (400ish hp + 245's on the back), give me the v8 all day long. Being a little scary is what makes a car fun.

I've driven a car with a better power/weight than the F-type v8 and it wasn't that bad at all (550ish hp/3600lbs vs the jags 550/3900). Granted it had drag radials, but still I can't imagine the F-type being all that ridiculous.
