is it good for the valvetrain to have a 1000 degree heat sink cooking next to it?

i'm also a member of the "LS1 could have fixed it" club

That is a cool ass Civic indeed!

- REED - 08-18-2008

yeah anything that fits 12 inch wide tires is pretty awesome

- ViPER1313 - 08-18-2008

And you make fun of my / Jeff's taste in cars? I'm sure you could fit 12" tires on this too:

It doesn't make it any less of a turd.

MIHS - taking a firm stance against labeling 35 y/o Civics as cool.

a) your image doesn't work
b) i have now counted 3 people who think the above civic is cool. that is 3x more than the folks who think tauruses or dodges are cool.

- Ole - 08-18-2008

Depends on which Dodges....and if they are 35 yrs old. No 35 yr old civics should ever be labeled as cool. Mini, maybe yes. Datsun 510 race car, yes. Dodge Challenger 70-73, hell yes!

Pacer with 304 v-8 and roofline chopped 8" maybe.......no still not cool!

Ole Wrote:Depends on which Dodges....

20-25 year old dodges. not cool. 30+ year old dodges? cool.

- ScottyB - 08-18-2008

i'm afraid i have to go with cool on this one for the following reasons:

- its still alive
- fender flares done RIGHT
- wide, rare wheels
- largely intact vintage weirdness
- not overdone (crazy engine swap, overmodernization, jdm-ness)

i also think stuff like turbo minivans, small block volvo wagons, and rotary pickups are cool, so grain of salt i guess.

- Mike - 08-18-2008

oh yeahhhh! 4/5!

- HAULN-SS - 08-18-2008

mark me down for uncool. those fender flares look terrible.

- Mike - 08-18-2008

oops. i forgot to count ole.

4/6.5 (deersty only gets half a vote)

- WRXtranceformed - 08-18-2008

I mean I'm not usually into cars of that genre or year range... I'm usually either into really old cars (certain early 70s cars and below) or really new cars. But I like the look of that Civic. I saw an original old school Civic at the local Honda dealer here when I was car shopping and they actually had it for sale in the showroom haha! I think it was like $10,000 or something, in pretty decent shape.

Selling my black on black 1993 Mazda RX7 R1. I bought the car not too long ago and had the engine rebuilt.
I had nearly all of the parts replaced with new parts. Also replaced a number of other parts such as fpr, fpd, oil lines, struts, clutch fork, etc. Car has fairly new brake pads, rotors, and tires. Has an Alpine headunit, speakers, and sub with amps to power it all. Also has caralarm with keyless entry and remote start installed. It was tuned by Steve Kan and made 309hp at the wheels with the old engine. I am most likely forgetting many other things, but that should cover the basics of it. Well over $10k has been put into the car in the past year alone. I have receipts for most of it. The R1 lip has gone missing somewhere. I have clean title in hand. Due to unforseen circumstances, I am forced to seek a few financial solutions. Unfortunately selling the FD may be one of them. So I would like to see how much SERIOUS interest is out there. I also have an S5 TII for sale if that peaks your fancy. I've attatched some really poor quality pictures; I will try to get some pictures after I get the car cleaned up.

Yes, the car is running.

I can be reached at 404 543 7211.

zero miles on the engine. that means you get at least a year of fun before it goes all hiroshima on you.
