Re: The tires thread "So I need tires..." - Goodspeed - 11-17-2015 Well I ordered some Blizzak WS80's in 205/50-17 from Curry's. They have gotten excellent reviews on TR - they are in the studless ice & snow category vs. the performance winter category, but from what I've read they have excellent dry road manners akin to performance winters with no penalty towards their ability to deal with the tough stuff. Curry's price including installation was just a bit above tires+shipping from TR. I'll hopefully be able to take the stock wheels to them this Saturday to have them mounted, and then they'll be stored until nature calls for them. Spendy, but if they save me from one code-brown moment this winter the outlay will have been worth it. Good Choice  If you have an extra set of wheels it doesn't make sense not to have the best equipment for the weather. ![]() Re: The tires thread "So I need tires..." - Senor_Taylor - 12-24-2015 I know this may be a stupid question, but where do you guys actually BUY your tires? I'm finally moving up to 33s for the Taco once I get my tax return, so I'll be in the burg when the time comes. Also, Cabell, Colton, Kaan, anyone keep an eye out for a CHEAP 15 inch steelie with 4 inch backspacing and a 33x10.5x15 tire on the cheap to use as a spare. Re: The tires thread "So I need tires..." - Jake - 12-25-2015 Tire Rack or Discount Tire Direct. Sometimes one will have a brand that the other doesn't. Just have em delivered to your house or a shop they partner with (call and ask) and it's easy. You just plug in your zip code during checkout and they will provide a list of "verified installers". You pick one you like and they ship them there and the store will call you when they come in. I just did this for 2 sets of tires and worked flawlessly. I'm not cheaping out on tires, I'm getting KO2s, I just need something cheap as a spare if I pop one on the trail. I'm going to all new wheels and everything and the wheels I just bought from Colton have 4" backspacing or possibly 4.5", I just need one. Re: The tires thread "So I need tires..." - Senor_Taylor - 01-26-2016 Anyone order tires from Amazon? I've shopped around and with my prime subscription, Amazon has the cheapest price delivered to my door for the tires I want. <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.amazon.com/BFGoodrich-All-Terrain-All-Season-Radial-Tire/dp/B010C78C1O/ref=sr_1_1?s=automotive&ie=UTF8&qid=1453848116&sr=1-1&keywords=33x10.50x15+tires">http://www.amazon.com/BFGoodrich-All-Te ... 0x15+tires</a><!-- m --> Re: The tires thread "So I need tires..." - JPolen01 - 01-26-2016 How is it any different from any other amazon purchase? Re: The tires thread - Senor_Taylor - 01-26-2016 JPolen01 Wrote:How is it any different from any other amazon purchase? Thanks for the help. Great response. Well, I was wondering about return policies or any anecdotal experiences. Like does Amazon somehow have the shitty reject tires or will I screwed over some how. Just a question. Re: The tires thread "So I need tires..." - JustinG - 01-26-2016 Contact amazon and ask. I would still go with Tirerack. Free hazard replacement warranty and a spectacular customer service team is worth the extra $5 a tire. I have never been able to beat tirerrack by more than a couple bucks. If its more than 15 or 20 dollars a tire though Amazon might be the way to go. Re: The tires thread "So I need tires..." - Senor_Taylor - 01-27-2016 Lol, nevermind. My tax return is WAY less than I thought it would be. No new tires for me for another year. And you dont have to haul tires around.
