I mean I wouldn't not drive it. :dunno:

Re: Cool cars for sale that ain't yours! - WRXtranceformed - 07-01-2014

Wow that is a weird car to actually purchase, but looking at some of the cars in their collection I might have to swing by there this weekend!

Re: Cool cars for sale that ain't yours! - V1GiLaNtE - 07-01-2014

680 hp V8 solaris.. Now I've seen everything

Re: Cool cars for sale that ain't yours! - Evan - 07-01-2014

I would drive the shit out of that. (ok maybe after some rattle can work)

Not to mention, paint it beige, put stock wheels/bumper on and add some door dings and a stick figure family sticker on the back and you have the best sleeper in the history of the universe.

Re: Cool cars for sale that ain't yours! - SlimKlim - 07-01-2014

Good luck getting stock rims over those serving platter brake rotors. :lol: I'd happily drive it in plain white with a less tuner-y looking set of wheels. I always thought those 2008ish Camrys were actually pretty sharp looking cars, at least when compared to other Camrys. Normal people wouldn't give it a second look. Car nerds would think you were some powerful kind of crazy to tear apart a Solara for a Camry conversion. No one would expect the atom bomb under the hood.

Re: Cool cars for sale that ain't yours! - ScottyB - 07-01-2014

aside from the showkar paint thats actually pretty awesome.

This times eleventy bajillion. They would make movies about that level of sleeper awesomeness.

I can't think of a single MB that has ever done a thing for me ( other than the original 300sl of course) but I pass this car in a used car lot on my way to work every day and Ive gone from barely glancing at it to pretty interested.

One of these days I'll stop in and get more info.

Ahhhhhh my hpoe for one of these some day gets better and better. A la true British car fashion, they have depreciated like crazy. Hoping mid to low 50's for the S by the time I am ready to trade in the R:

F-Type S already under $70k:
<!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-sale/vehicledetails.xhtml?zip=28277&endYear=2015&modelCode1=JAGFTYPE&showcaseOwnerId=598341&startYear=1981&makeCode1=JAG&listingType=used&listingTypes=used%2Ccertified&searchRadius=300&showcaseListingId=376002542&mmt=%5BJAG%5BJAGFTYPE%5B%5D%5D%5B%5D%5D&listingId=371019057&Log=0">http://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-sale ... 9057&Log=0</a><!-- m -->

The standard F-Type is already almost in the $50's with very low mileage:
<!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-sale/vehicledetails.xhtml?zip=28277&endYear=2015&modelCode1=JAGFTYPE&showcaseOwnerId=598341&startYear=1981&makeCode1=JAG&listingType=used&listingTypes=used%2Ccertified&searchRadius=300&showcaseListingId=376002542&mmt=%5BJAG%5BJAGFTYPE%5B%5D%5D%5B%5D%5D&listingId=365009254&Log=0">http://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-sale ... 9254&Log=0</a><!-- m -->

V8 versions are obviously more desireable and expensive, but even those are under $90k now. Honestly I think I would be totally happy with the V6 S with 380hp, maybe cranked up with a tune. 4.8 0-60 and 171mph is no joke...and would turn 27mpg on a road trip.

Re: Cool cars for sale that ain't yours! - WRXtranceformed - 07-16-2014

Are these really that "cheap" now?

I am staring at the painting Ryan made for me of one, hoping this thing keeps depreciating and I can pick one up when I am an old man!

Re: Cool cars for sale that ain't yours! - HAULN-SS - 07-17-2014

I'm on a kick lately since I have been working on my own car. This is one of the best color combos they made these in I think, and this one looks super clean. Would make a great DD cruiser

I was in front of one of these today in my sweet fusion (v6 variant I think, British Racing Green) and I might have actually become sexually excited. That color doe!

That car in BRG is sex on wheels.

Rachael hates that color for some reason but I am in love with it. I tried to look at a BRG XFR for sale at a dealer in South Carolina (tan/black two tone interior, mmmmm) but an hour before I was about to leave to see it the salesman called me with a dejected tone and told me that the dealership's owner's wife had been driving it and she didn't want to give it up..... :roll: :roll:

Sounds like a great way to sell cars, give your best ones to your wife and let her decide what you do with them. :lol:

Such a rare color, I don't think I saw any other BRG XFRs for sale at the time when I was looking. As much as I'm not super fond of black, this sparkly black has grown on me. When it's clean it's sex

Good thing it's not for her then :wink:

BRG on tan is just... unff. :thumbup:
