You'd probably be ok. This guy found some hitch from the European BMWs which ties into a bunch of extra points and towed his race car with an e30.

Unfortunately I was too slow on the keyboard. The VIDEO is of an E36 wagon, but he posted too quickly so it looks like I was pointing to the E30 wagon.

because i've never had a car with a rumbly v8 and it is something i'd like to experience? a niche turbo motor is cool and all, but not what i'm looking for in a mustang.

Fair enough.
A fuelie SBF with a complete aftermarket exhaust is IMO one of the best sounding "old school" pushrod V8's out. Dat firing order.
