I looked at this car last night. It needs lots of updating to be a good runner and to pass tech.
Body work to the LR 1/4 and LF fender (I would just order a new fender from Mazdaspeed) he thinks he has DR door. I would have the cage ckecked out by someone that knows cages. ABS needs to be removed (weight). Power window and mechanism in DR side needs to be removed. Needs paint. Needs cut-off switch and few more small items.

The guy is very nice. The car would be good for someone starting out. He has lots of spares.

I don't think I want another 1.6 SM. I already have 2. I may want to build a 99+ this time.

The owner was turning respectable times in this overweight, high mileage SM at NASA Races 2 years ago at SPMP.

PM me if you want more info.

Regards,
Alan

Alan now has more miatas than I do!

- Ole - 07-19-2008

..and a few more in the works....

95 1.8
99 crispy

- .RJ - 07-19-2008

Anyone got a good street miata for sale?

- Ole - 07-20-2008

possibly, what year? how much?

- Nis01 - 07-20-2008

You can keep an eye out for me as well for a well maintained '99 for a reasonable price. Reasonably track-prepped is a plus. Been a pretty exhausting search. Any help is much appreciated, PM me any potentials.

Do you have a miata farm like evan? What are you selling?

I think evan was waffling about selling his '99 for something a little nicer... its already got a rollbar Smile

Glad you're finally getting a real track car

Car: 2003 Mitsubishi Evolution VIII
Mileage: 34,xxx

SPECIAL VADRIVEN PRICE OF $25,500 obo, I am open to trades... But dont ask to trade me your fucking civic or camaro.
This car has over 30k invested in it

TURN KEY TRACK CAR
The car currently has decals
I can leave them on or strip it to your liking
This is a very low mileage pristine track car
that can be daily driven on the street. Car is 100% street legal
Car description:

If you want an uncompromised track car that is built to the highest standards then this is the car. I hate to put it up for sale but in all honesty I am not ready to take the chance and stuff a high dollar car like this into a wall @ VIR or some other track. I would like to buy a lesser car like a 240 or miata...something that if I stuff into a wall I can shrug and just laugh it off.

The car will include a 2 sets of tires (track and street)
2 sets of brake pads (track and street)
2 sets of coilovers (track and street)

Currently the car is setup for street. You can easily convert the car for full track duty by swaping tires, pads and coilovers. The track coilovers are corner balanced by DTM and the alignment on the car is setup for the Corner balanced coilovers.
DTM setup the car to be very neutral. There is little to no understeer on the car and the it handles confidently

Custom cage built by Cascade Motorsports

This car was transported from Seattle and the basic foundation and prep work was performed by Cascade motorsports. These are the guys that have built the DC Shoes STI's and Subaru America Rally cars
The cage is topnotch and is color matched to the body. Full prep work and cage was billed to the original owner @ $11,000!!!!

I may have a 99 available. Needs a bit of work but runs good. Needs small amont of bodywork to LR 1/4, new brakes and rotors, LR caliper sticks sometimes when e-brake is applied. Had a few codes and I fixed a couple issues but I just bought another SM and this one will have to wait to be configured for SM. Let me see if I can sell it (son may want it).

how did you get way out there in the first place? Track out is about 10 feet ahead of where you are........the Miata appears to be re-taking its rightful position...... Big Grin

Pics?

- Ole - 07-23-2008

I have to see if we are selling it or building it. I am up to my ears in Miatas right now. We were also considering putting a single turbo 13b in the 99.

lol, yeah, thats the first thing I noticed when I saw that pic too. I specifically remember that incident too. I gave the Evo a point coming out of 1/2. I tucked in behind it going into 3 and he didnt scrub off that much speed before turn in. Well you can see what happened in the pic but yeah I was watching him up until about track out setting up for 4.

- Ole - 07-23-2008

Oh I thought you were driving the EVO
