What’s going on MM’ers,

I’m Chris Lacey and I’m running for secretary of MM. I drive a black mustang and joined the club late last year. This past semester I have really tried to help MM in any way I could. I’ve worked closely with Dan, Jon, and Tyler to give a helping hand when they’ve needed it. Next year I plan on really getting the word around JMU that we exist and that we are the most fun and simply the best club here. The best way to start that would be to get the club members to actually become closer friends rather than people they see from time to time. This means more social gatherings such as cruises, Klines meet ups, airstrip meets, dinners, Topgear nights and on-campus lunches. Maybe try to incorporate late night town cruises with stopping at various places around H’burg for some photo shoots! We also need to have get togethers on some Friday/Saturday nights to have fun like most JMU students do on Friday/Saturday nights.. And there is always a need for club members to be more comfortable around one another.

Now for getting JMU students to know we exist part… This could be something as simple as getting some members to hang out in the commons on campus and handing out flyers or posting on cars you notice around campus. I have done this for the car show this past year(which was AMAZING) and got positive feedback with people wanting to show up and join. Also this is just an idea, but possibly convincing JMU to let us park on campus for one week day. Somewhere outside of ISAT or get some bikes parked out in the commons. I mean let’s be honest, if you’re walking out of class and there’s a 240 built for drifting, you’re going to wonder what’s happening and how you could be a part of it. The main part I believe is to advertise to the student body during the weeks, since weekend days are unpredictable on campus. We have to work for 15 minutes at a time in-between everyone’s classes to be most effective with getting the word out.

I have really gotten to know Dan, Tyler and Jon over the past semester especially. The work that they have put into this club this past year is insane and has really jumpstarted the club back to life. This is a club I am proud to be a part of. I will work for this club’s exec’s, members and alumni with whatever needs to be done. Lastly I just want to thank Dan, Jon, Tyler and Chris for making the club what it is today. They have done an amazing job, and I hope I can help keep MM moving in the right direction!

Let me know if you have any questions!

So here is the deal. I just typed up a multi-paragrpaph explanation of what is going on with all these VP candidates and my plans for next year. When I posted it, the shit tastic internet that graces Copper Beech hiccuped and I lost it all. That means I'm not typing it all up again.

I'm planning to stay on as VP. I do not want to take on the role of the president because I may not be able to make it to every event as the president should. I have a commitment to VBD which may get a lot more serious in the near future. I want to be able to give both venues my attention when needed and which is why I decided not to run for president. I also have an out of state girlfriend which takes me home on some weekends. I'll be able to make it to most events, but some I will not.

As far as things I plan to do, just keep doing what we did this year. I want to work more in the background and let the younger guys run the show. I plan to help keep them on track as far as scheduling and helping them out with planning the autox, car show, regular club events, and apparel orders.

Dan and I have talked and we are most likely going to run a 5 person team with Garrett, Chris, Sam, Abbie, and myself. Titles and all that will be worked out, but we plan to share the work equally. That's how Dan, Tyler, and I did it this year and I think it worked out pretty well.

Hello MMer's!
As the title states I'd like to run for the position of Vice president, however I'd be willing to fill any role needed. I have loved the last 2 years being in the club and would like to step up and be an executive for next year, and to do my best to keep the club awesome and even improve the club.

As VP I'd like the club to have more social meets next year, which could be hosted at my apartment and/or getting dinner more often together, possibly even an offroading/camping trip for a low cost social event as well. Also I'd like to get the club out to more events, such as some drift events , drag racing or circle track/stock car type events. Shenandoah speedway which is only 25ish minutes away has both drift events and circle track events, and MM as a club has not taken advantage of this. Also Waynesboro has an 1/8th mile drag strip that you can get unlimited runs for $20 on test and tune days, which would be fantastic to get members involved in. I myself am not a big drag racing fan, but even I have a blast hanging out at the strip, so we just need to get members out there and give it a shot.

I'd like to fund raise more for the club by selling more apparel, and possibly even sober rides if we could get willing drivers.

P.S. I have a light load for classes for the fall so I will have plenty of time for the club!!

-Well currently that's all I can think of to say, so if you have any questions just ask!

Hey yall! My name is Abbie, and I would love to be the club treasurer next year. This club has been great to me ever since I joined, and I really want to give back by offering up my service during my last year at JMU.

I’ve been an MMer for 2 years now. I’m very organized and accountable, and this makes me a good candidate for this job. My mom is also a bookkeeper, so I’ve learned from the best on how to manage money! T-shirt orders would be organized and managed responsibly, and I also want to step up club fundraising next year (possible car wash fundraiser? Raffles?) I will manage the funds that make karting and track days possible and allocate funds as necessary. I will also assist the other officers in planning events. I really want to see karting each semester, Kline’s cruise-ins, classroom meetings, Quaker Steak dinners, the annual car show, more Top Gear nights, more D-Hall lunches, and last but not least….MORE TRACK DAYS!!! (the March event at VIR as me sold for life) I’d also like to see the club out at more kinds of racing events in addition to VIR, Summit, and AutoX (provided the interest and participation is there). Possible drag racing night at Eastside Dragway in Waynesboro or VMP? I’d like to see at least one social event each week. Another event idea I’ve always had is a club car wash and detailing day on a Saturday when the weather is nice. I don’t know about everyone else, but I hate driving a dirty car!

MM is an awesome club, and I really want to help continue its legacy. We have had such a successful year (many thanks to the current officers for their hard work!), and I think that we can continue to make this club even better next year. Thanks for reading!

GUTEN TAG, HUNAMS! MEIN NAME IST DEISEL. THAT MEAN 'MY NAME IS DIESEL' IN NOT-ENGLISH!

TODAY I AM SUBMITTING TO YOU MY BID FOR VICE PRESIDENT OF THE MADISON MOTOROSPORTS

WHY VOTE DIESEL, YOU ASK? SIMPLE. 3 REASONS:

REASON 1: DIESEL CUTE BASTARD. LOOK:

RIGHT?

REASON B: DIESEL INVOLVED

DIESEL DO MANY THINGS. DIESEL GO TO SUMMIT POINT. DIESEL GO TO CAR SHOW. DIESEL HANG OUT, GET PET, SNIFF MANY BUTT AND CROTCH. DIESEL COME TO MANY AUTOCROSS, DIESEL LOVE AUTOCROSS.

REASON III: DIESEL GOOD BOY

DIESEL VERY GOOD BOY LISTEN VERY WELL. WHEN HAVE TO PEE AT NIGHT, DIESEL GO OUT IN YARD TO PEE AND COME RIGHT BACK IN NO CHASE BIRD OR SNIFF FUN SMELLING THINGS. DIESEL LEARN TO BE OFF LEASH SOMETIME, ESPECIALLY WHEN NOT MUCH FOR DIESEL TO CHASE. DIESEL LEARN HOW TO PLAY FETCH, PLAY IT VERY GOOD MY FAVORITE GAME

DIESEL STILL VERY YOUNG BUT LEARN ALOT SINCE LAST ELECTION.

DIESEL HAVE MANY IDEAS FOR CLUB. MANY OF THE SAME IDEAS AS LAST ELECTION, MORE BUTT SNIFFING AND WRENCHING AND PETTING FOR DIESEL. BUT ALSO, DIESEL WANT TO INSPIRE PASSION. WANT CLUB MEMBERS TO HAVE SAME PASSION FOR CAR AS DIESEL HAVE FOR TENNIS BALL. 9THIS ALOT OF PASSION, YOU HAVE TO BE DOG TO UNDERSTAND BUT TRUST DIESEL.9

'DIESEL,' YOU SAY. 'YOU ARE A VERY GOOD BOY, WHY YOU NOT RUN FOR PRESIDENT?'

THIS EXCELLENT QUESTION. TRADITIONALLY MM HAVE VICE PRESIDENT LIKE LOOSE POOP. SMELLY AND UNPLEASANT AND STICK TO BUTTHOLE. DIESEL SEEK CHANGE. DIESEL WANT TO WORK WITH PRESIDENT AND OTHER OFFICERS, NOT AGAINST. DIESEL UNDERSTAND THAT VP VERY 'PORTANT, AND NOT JUST FOR TO PUT ON TRANSCRIPT. FOR TO WORK AND BE AT THINGS. DIESEL NOT FULL OF IT, DIESEL KNOW THAT HE MAYBE NOT BE BEST PRESIDENT. NOT GREAT COMMUNICATOR.
We've (Me, Jon, Dan, Chris, Sam, and Abbie) have talked it over and I am going to run for president this year!

I would also like to run for a position. Preferably VP or wherever else I'm need. I have been a member since I first came to JMU and always had a blast. Whether it was autocrossing, social gatherings, or trips, I always had fun. I definitely want to keep that aspect going. Next year I would like to get more involved with the students and draw some potential ideas they were thinking. I hope next year we can get one more karting in as that always turns out to be a hit. Another thing I would really like to see are moar social gatherings and getting people out (doesn't have to just be drinking). Klines run, pizza trip (Jake), cruise anywhere. I really really really want to continue the ski trip if at all possible. For those who couldn't make it, wow. That was one of the best experiences I had in a while. From skishots to Ryan jumping off that roof there was no doubting that was one of the highlights of the semester. Dan, thanks for everything you have done, it's been one SOLID semester!

Edit: Next semester I will hopefully have the E30 up and I would LOVE it if current members would drive it
And more attendance (maybe fund-raise so other students don't have the excuse of no money) and definitely another in class teaching. I personally loved the one we had this year. Also as Jake (I think) mentioned, moar track time and a rally cross!
