I teased one of the corp people last night at the free booze party about seeing it all on the web way before now. His reply "Why do you think there are metal detectors and no electronics allowed in? This is all new stuff". I'm stoked to see if he is fo real.

Viper - First 150 will be blue and white limited edition. No blue and white after year one. Roadster in 2014. Over 150,000 color and equipment combos. Srt base $99,995. GTS $122,995.

Alfa Romeo - Return to US 2014. Alfa only motors no fiat or Chrysler sharing. Two models. Gulia - 4 door or wagon premium compact. IRS. 4C - mid engine sports car. Carbon fiber chassis, turbo direct injection.

Jeep - #1 Suv brand in us sales overtaking Honda. New 2014 Grand Cherokee refresh with clean diesel option. 8 speed auto gives it 30 mpg. New trail hawk models are confusing offroad packages for most jeep models. Wrangler gets 3 limited editions. Moab - Sahara with some rubi gear. Dragon - see Beijing auto show. Rubixon 10th anneversary edition.

If you wouldnt mind, any little tid bits or information you find please keep us updated. Im at a crossroads wether I want a real truck and enclosed trailer or get a much nicer SUV and keep the open. Open is simple and cheap for now which is nice.

Aren't the present gen Cherokees getting 25mpg now? I might be completely making this up, but I thought that's what I read somewhere.

Good luck actually getting those figures. My roommate has a 3.6L and Mike D'Amico has a hemi. That said if they are promising thirty I would even be happ with 25-28.

Well diesel is a little bit different game. Plus the 8 speed trans up from their 5. We will see how it turns out. I'll keep you posted.

At around 4$ a gallon, I've found diesel and gas start to equalize. In fact, early this year when everyone was in a panic and gas got above 4$, diesel was cheaper for a brief while

i havent seen deisel even approach regular gas in at least a decade

At sheetz near my house last night gas was 3.99, diesel was 4.12.

I think there is an equilibrium point because diesel should be cheaper than gas, but they started that ultra low sulfur bullshit which pushed the price up. I assume that price is fixed no matter the cost of the petroleum to remove the sulfur from the oil.

I have ran the numbers. Now that price on fuel is higher, the percentage difference reduces significantly (about half your quoted 15% at least locally). Going from my yukon denali that gets ~15mpg combined around town and ~13mpg towing, to 25mpg combined and 18-20mpg towing at about 18,000 miles a year it starts to make sense.

Combine with the higher resale value of a diesel, reliability of one....now you start making sense.

DIesels also generally require more maintenance - especially the newer high pressure fuel systems. It takes a long time to recover the initial buy in, but if there were a diesel option for the Ridgeline I'd have been all over it.
