I thought you guys would like to see what $5400 in damage on a 3.0CL looks like.
When I get it back, is anyone up for a cruise?

The dude fell asleep in the middle of the freakin' day. And he caught his FR tire on my BL and then glanced off and hit a telephone poll. That's what you get with some hillbilly UNINSURED redneck. It was parked and I was getting ready to leave, so I heard it. ***Tear*** And this was 2 weeks after I drove 2.5 hours to go buy it. But the best part is that my insurance valued the car at $6200 and it's KBB is $10400 so we finally settled somewhere btw, and they just started working on it. The wreck was middle of the summer.
Boycott Shomo Lineweaver! They couldn't have done less to help us deal with the policy they sold.

Damn, that sucks... body shops... insurance agencies... next to the DMV they're some of the worst agencies in the world to deal with.
When it comes to Ryan Jenkins, the story ends with me putting him in the wall.

It's cool. Atleast I'm getting it back. I got the keyfob out this afternoon and I could just imagine the alarm chirp. It's going to be a good day when I get it back.
If any sound system new-bees want to learn, I'll be doing a full sound install the saturday after I get the CL back. New headunit, Sirius Radio, Sub Amp, and 12" sub. IM me or leave a measage if you want to help or watch.

You were actually able to talk them up? I ran into the same thing when I totalled my 240, the amount they were saying it was worth was lower than any book value anywhere, even dealer trade in. I was thinking, if that's what you want to give me for it, then I'd like to see YOU find another one at that price!
My dad is a CFO and he had a contact in the insurance division at BB&T. (BB&T owns the adjusting company or the insurance company, something like that) He told him the two ways to get the price up.
1. Do a radius online search for your car within a certain range and within a certain mileage (ie give or take say 30k of your actual mileage), then average the price and the mileage. If the mileage is not close to the actual mileage then use the NADA mileage adjustment. But then adjust the average price for the mileage adjustment, and you can establish fair market value.
EX We were oftered $6200 without the car(totaled). We established market value at $9000 (KBB $10,400), so they gave us about $8400 and the option to take 80% of that and the car. Obviously, the car was in great shape so I took the car.
2. Treaten Suit (alittle more risky)

I'd threaten with a suit...just for the practice! hehehe...
The only problem in my case was that since the driver that hit my CL was uninsured, we would be sueing our own insurance company.
On a side note, earlier this summer my Subaru 2.5GT Legacy was totaled when I was rearended on interstate. I don't have full range of motion in my neck and may never. We are sueing in that case.

sounds like a fun summer!
I alway try to look on the bright side, so here's my attempt. --Allstate paid for the massages on my neck and shoulders and I'm getting a new paint job on the Acura.-- But thanks for feeling my pain.
