Mid-Atlantic Track Video Guide
#1
I mentioned in a project thread that I would be compiling footage from Mid-Atlantic tracks and detail a lap around each track with the corner name and its "nickname" so people know what your talking about when your coming out of "hogpen". A few people, maybe one person really liked the idea, and I thought it would be a good MM resource for tracks youve never been to so that you can familiarize yourself. I put together this first video as a "test". I am looking for concerns, critique, comments, suggestions, and ideas to make this more informative and actually useful. So here it is:

That's pretty cool DJ! I like how you include the "names" of the turns. I learned something there actually!

Thats pretty cool - I for one can't keep track of all that crap. I can see it being useful - it might help to incorporate a simple track map at the beginning of the video as an intro, and maybe bump up the brightness a bit if its a gloomy day when the footage is taken.

Also, your pile got left in the dust by that E46 like a bitch.

Thanks guys, its definitely a work in progress. Ill bump up the brightness just a bit, I didnt even think to do that.

As for the map, do you think beginning or end?

As for the E46, yes on the backstraight she left me like a bitch, we actually run very similiar times (2:14s) with me edging her out by a few tenths. That may change when I jump to being on hoosiers in 2 weekends, luckily, she is in a higher class anyway.

I thought that was only the north course after 7 :dunno:

How about a track map with blinking position driving around it overlaid on the whole thing like GT? Now that would be badass. Maybe a SMAD major could help you out.

Looks good otherwise.

i wouldn't mind seeing a gear indicator either. obviously cars are hugely different in driving characteristics but you can get a general idea.

awesome work though, looking forward to seeing more.

"Here, at last, is the cure for texting while driving. The millions of deaths which occur every year due to the iPhone’s ability to stream the Kim K/Ray-J video in 4G could all be avoided, every last one of them, if the government issued everyone a Seventies 911 and made sure they always left the house five minutes later than they’d wanted to. It would help if it could be made to rain as well. Full attention on the road. Guaranteed." -Jack Baruth

Good resource. I think maybe once we are done doing the "walkthrough vids" we should make a stickied post with the guide and Mike's repository of track videos.

If anyone knows how to do a tracking map thing, itd be sick, but I figure I wont be able to do that until I get a traqmate, in which I will.

As for the gear indicator, I could add it, but im not sure itll be much use, im worried about "too much" going on distracting from actually just getting a feel for the track.
