Kawasaki Eliminator

I'm sure most of ya'll have heard me say you'd never catch me on a bike the entire time I was in college because I wasn't mature enough to own one. Well I think I've finaly grown up enough that I would like to venture out on two wheels. The only style bike I'm interested in riding is a cruise style bike. Think Harley but not as expensive. Well a friend offered me a real steal on a 2001 Kawasaki Eliminator. I know it's only a 1 cylinder, 125cc beginner bike. Is this bike even worth considering to learn on/take my test, etc? Or am I better off to wait and just pick up a cruiser that I would be happy keeping for a couple years? Just lookin for some advice Smile

Terrible, simply terrible on the highway but I bet it'd be fun around town. If it's a "real steal" then do it.

That's a horrible, horrible bike. You should buy an '06 Honda Aero.

"Here, at last, is the cure for texting while driving. The millions of deaths which occur every year due to the iPhone’s ability to stream the Kim K/Ray-J video in 4G could all be avoided, every last one of them, if the government issued everyone a Seventies 911 and made sure they always left the house five minutes later than they’d wanted to. It would help if it could be made to rain as well. Full attention on the road. Guaranteed." -Jack Baruth

Thats sorta what I was afraid of. Around here there really isn't a whole lot of "around town" to speak of. Unless your right in the middle of the downtown (all 3 miles long of it) your on a highway. Majority of roads I have to drive on just to get too town are at least 45mph. Think I'll hold off till I can get something a little better. The course I plan to take uses the 492cc Buell Blast for the learning segmet and the road test, you don't bring your own bike.
