Hardwiring radar detector help

So I got everything I need in for my hardwire install, but I had a quick question for you electrical gurus.

Here is the hardwire remote panel kit:

It comes with a 3M cable connector (the type you crimp into an existing switched power source) and a male spade connector on the positive power lead. Presumably I could just try to find the 110V outlet cable and splice it into that, but could I also just clip off the male spade lead and run that power lead into the power window fuse down near my driver's side foot well? Would that work? The reason I ask is that I've seen some Valentine 1 hardwire kits that do this, and it seems like an easier solution than trying to figure out which wire is the power window wire to tap it into behind the fuse panel.

I like being able to tie into this particular circuit because I could turn the RD off with the window lock switch.

If you want to run the wire directly to a switched power source, I would just tap into the ignition power wire for the radio, but that is my personal preference.

They also sell these at AdvanceAuto / Autozone:
Clicky Pow! - that way you can just plug the fuse in wherever you want and you don't have to modify your car's stock wiring.
Why do people just post what they are thinking? Without thinking.
