Or was he simply trying to get his fair share from the money and fame created by Top Gear? I kinda feel like the guy's got a point. Clarkson, May, and Hammond get to make a lot of extra income from appearances and what not while he makes 0. On the other hand, he knew that was the deal going in, and signed a contract to the same effect. That's the deal you get as supporting cast.

At the end of the day though, I don't see it as a big deal. I doubt it costs the show any of its popularity so really Clarkson and crew have nothing to complain about. Stig guy probably knew he'd get fired and decided the money was worth it so he should have nothing to complain about.

Meanwhile, there's an opening at Top Gear. Would be a pretty nice gig, just couldn't tell anyone what you do...

that's how i feel. he knew what he was getting into but decided he could maximize his profit using his 15 minutes of fame now then to wait. i can also understand about the lack of public appearances, but when your job is to forcefully drive the world's sweetest cars around a course on a regular basis it's kind of like talking about how dissapointed you are that you get to have regular, furious sex with angelina joelee but you have to do it with a mask on. i think his ultimate undoing was greed, coupled with what probably felt like an eternally dead end, dissatisfying role.

frankly i'm most excited to see what inventive fashion the white stig dies in this time. last time stig went public, it was an aircraft carrier. i wonder if they'll change suit colors. it's also not like they won't find someone hugely talented to take old stig's place.

You do it until you're ready to move on and then you right a book, that's the way it works. I like Clarkson, but I just don't see what the big deal is. As long as you don't break any contractual obligations by speaking out, I say go for it... as long as you know you're gonna get whacked.

"Here, at last, is the cure for texting while driving. The millions of deaths which occur every year due to the iPhone’s ability to stream the Kim K/Ray-J video in 4G could all be avoided, every last one of them, if the government issued everyone a Seventies 911 and made sure they always left the house five minutes later than they’d wanted to. It would help if it could be made to rain as well. Full attention on the road. Guaranteed." -Jack Baruth
