Hey guys, I've been looking for an 2004-07 WRX STi for the past month or so and have been coming up empty. There are tons out there for sale but nothing has really caught my attention recently so I figured I'd give you guys a heads up in case you know of one for sale.
Pre-Reqs:
1. Must have somewhat low mileage (~50k, but 2004-05 60k isnt unreasonable)
2. 100% OEM and never been modified (I'm tired of riced out cars as Daily Drivers)
3. No Rust and No Accidents
4. Never abused/raced/launched
Preferred:
1. Under $25k
2. Colors in order of want: 1. WRB(blue) 2. OBP(black) 3. AW(white)
City Motors in Hburg has/had one for sale and I drove the 4.5 hours up to H'burg only to find out it was modified and tuned when the autotrader ad (and person on phone) said it was "100% stock". Im currently living in Raleigh, NC but am willing to travel for the right car/price. #2 and 4 are going to be a tough one to find. I would shoot for an '05-'06 and avoid an '07, IMO.

I like the look of the '04-'05 best. #4 is the only impossible task. You might find somebody who says its never been abused, but come on... I'm guessing there aren't a whole lot of little old ladies just driving blue STi's to church on Sunday lol. Good luck!

The biggest thing I meant about the abuse is regular maintenance and such and not driving it to the rev limiter everytime you drive it. Ive been seeing many that fit the bill (my buddy's dad has an 06/07 and has never had it above 5k) but one I looked at in Fayetteville got bought the day after I looked at it. Thanks Scott! That's some good info right there, I'm new to this area and have no clue about places like that. I've got my info out to every subaru dealer and used car places in the area with no luck but that shop might know of someone who fits the bill. I've been trying to look at a nice stock 1 owner thats for sale 20 min away but the guy switched jobs to the midwest and has the keys with a "buddy" who is never available to show the car to me >.< Also have a lead on an 06 in maryland with 35k miles but the distance is killer. I'll keep this post updated with any I run across and will post pics when my search is complete  . Thanks again for the info Scotty!!!

I actually did the same search this summer- so I feel for you.
Just be patient and try not to sacrifice. I had most of the same requirements- I wanted a stock car, 04 or 05 with under 70k. I found that searching on the forums almost always resulted in modified cars, so I stuck to your run of the mill used car searches and craigslist.
In the end I found a great one- one owner 2005, 66k, completely stock. Just be patient and keep searching, Im sure you will find something that meets your requirements!

I have an '04 completely stock* WRB STi coming up on 75k miles on it. Its been on track two times and autocrossed a couple of times. Its got a couple of scratches and door dings, what you'd expect from any car of this age. The rear bumper also has some cracked paint from where someone was thoughtful enough to tap me in a parking lot. I'm the only owner, I've done all the maintenance and I should have it on sale next week if all goes well.
*by completely stock I mean no power mods have been done. I put on hella supertone horns, a stereo (04's didnt come with a radio standard for "weight savings"), Canadian STi floor mats (04's also never came with floor mats standard), a front lip and lamin-X on the headlights.

^And I can vouch for that car as well-- I drove it when I was starting to look for STi's. Everything looks great, I would have bought that car this summer if timing had worked out!

so am i :lol: you also have boxer4racing in western NC that may have some information for you although they're a parts dealer, not a shop really.
i would suggest narrowing in on 04-06's and avoid 07's. they have the most trouble-prone factory engine tune, a propensity for weak ringlands, and the least aggressive suspension setup of the STi's. also the most expensive since they're the newest obviously
Maeng's '04 is about the nicest, best cared for '04 you're ever going to find. it's almost impossible to find one that old that hasn't started down the mod path since they're getting cheaper to attain and out of warranty anyway.

If you do go take a look at it, and you talk to Dave or Carol over there, tell them you know Rex and Julie. They go to our church, and are probably 2 of the nicest people you will ever meet.

I was actually thinking about PMing Maeng cause when I first saw his that's when I fell in love with STIs and wanted one ever since. Let me know what kinda time frame you're looking at Maeng. Also, I got tired of seeing nothing but piles of BS everywhere so I went into Subaru on Saturday to order a 2011. If my credit/co-signers credit all checks out I'll be ordering a WRB 2011 STI, but if that falls through I definitely want your car Maeng!!! However, if I do buy your car I want the plant that your intercooler sprayer was watering at the car show thrown in with the deal :-D

haha, I'm sure someone fed that plant some beer later that night.
I'm pretty much ready to sell the car whenever. Let me know if you end up buying the 2011.
