side->top post conversion

My SS has a side post battery in it. I hate that sumbitch. Today it wouldnt start again, and I suspect it is because the side-post terminals arent making a good connection. This happened last time, and i put a charger on it, still no dice, then finally thought to tighten the side post terminals and it fired right up. Anyway..its a son of a bitch to get to the screws on the side, and since they seem to be a pain in the ass - can you juts cut the ends off, buy a set of top post terminals and crimp them on? Seems like it'd be just the same, right?

yes you can cut the terminals off and just buy the replacemant terminals that bolt to the cable with the straps for top post. Now this works if you have a dual teminal battery or have a spare top post battery laying around. Or you can just buy replacment screws for the side post battery and use a 5/16 or a 8mm wrench when you need to install or remove them and not a pair of pliers or vice grips that round them off.

Yeah you can - if you do this, I recommend buying lead style terminals. Gold plated ones always seem to break / are really hard to get over the posts.
Why do people just post what they are thinking? Without thinking.
