welcome, see you at the first meeting
a Del Sol you say... hmmm glad to see that. You'll have to come to the 1st meeting (check the main page for info).
What are your plans for the car you get? not sure if you're aware of the different track events out there (I wasn't when I got mine) or if you're just looking for a fun street car.
I've had mine almost 5 years now and its been great, but for a true track car or to get the best handling out of a civic- I'd go with an early 90's swapped hatch. The sol is slightly heavier and has more body flex because of the targa roof.

Im living in white in the village, sticking to my desk as I type this becuase we dont have AC . As far as plans for my sol, im not sure. To be honest right now im just looking for a fun street car, a project to build and learn on. I dont really know much about events such as Auto X but im interested and I would love to learn. Ive also heard about the weight issue w/the sol =-( kinda sucks, and if i were to get a diff car it would be an early 90's hatch, but I love sols =-) and im willing to take the extra 100-150 pounds (I figure ill be taking out PS and AC anyway so that might make up for a small part of it). Right now im just trying to learn as much as I can about cars in general, and the diff events, attend as many events as I can and get a better feel for the whole scene. Look forward to meeting you guys at the first meeting (to bad i sold my ps2 way long ago and havnt played GT3 in god knows how long :x )
haha, first time I played gt3 was like.... 4 days ago... and I'm terrible. fun stuff though.

A friend of mine, he's a tech at Radley Acura in NoVa. We put a h22a into his little brothers hatch two summers ago. I know its cool to say you have a h22a in a hatch, but the install is pretty time consuming, and you have to know how to fabricate, and weld well. A tuned h22a with your basic bolt ons lays down 165-175 whp/ 140-150 lb-ft. But that would be your power limit. My friend's little brother drag races, and that's about all he needs considering his hatch weighs a hair over 2,000lbs. His hatch is really nice, and quick, but ride quality and handling are severely limited. Granted, if you have the money, you can get a bevy of suspension pieces to compensate for the extra wieght and torque. So in summation, get a stock b16a, b18c1, a thick head gasket and a fat turbo. You'll have a power, handling and streetabilty.

Student Org Night is coming up, we'll obviously be there. Nice to see newcomers

You can get over 200 whp with bolt-ons and tuning.
All depends on how much you want to spend.

Yeah I realize putting the H22A will be a bitch, but im willing to put up w/that. I was planning on replacing main suspension parts anyway...shocks/springs etc before the engine. That was actually the one thing i was gonna do before the swap. And to be honest I had plans down the road to boost the H22  but ill cross that bridge when i get to it. Money wont be an issue...for certain reasons i stand to inherit a fairly big sum of money...so that settles that. I thought about a B16A and B18c/c5 but i decided against em because i want the torque that comes with the H22 and I can buy a H22 for a little under 2k while a B18/B16 costs more. But enough of getting my hopes up =-) I still have a year to wait.
