CDC Summit Point Circuit Cross 7/18

Saturday July 18th Autocross # 8



Summit Point's Washington Circuit the location of the next CDC autocross on SATURDAY July 18th.



Registration and tech inspection will be at 8:00 and will promptly close at 8:45 to try to accommodate the full field, while still giving 6 runs. You must be DONE by 8:45. So if you arrive at 8:00 you won't have a problem. Don't arrive at the last minute.



The event fee for the Saturday autocross is $30 for members and $35 for non-members at this event. The fee is slightly more to cover for the increased cost for the facility.



Member reservations (or participants that will join the club upon showing up) for any events can be made at any time. Open reservations for non-members for this event begin Friday July 10th.



New Memberships



We are now taking new members at this event (in person only). If you are joining the club, you may make a reservation with current members by typing "I will be joining the club at this event." in the Notes field in the reservation request.

Thinking about it, I probably will. The new wheel/tire combo on the SC has dramatically improved handling enough that it may not be "entirely" out of the realm for it to hang with newer luxury cars.

Its made out of a triple skidpad. Itll be higher speeds than a normal autocross, but definitely not an HPDE.

I think I'd be interested. I'm not a CDC member, which shouldn't be a problem, right? The stuff DJ posted just says you can't register until Friday, which is cool by me regardless.

Whats the cost of becoming a member? I might make it to this if I'm in Winchester that weekend.

I just emailed Ed, asking about those of us who are not CDC members and associated costs, registration procedures, etc. I'm in if we can easily do it.

I beleive its 40 bucks if I remember correctly. However, this not also gives you access to CDC autocrosses, it gives you access to Mercedes Benz club of washington autocrosses. (they consider you a member of both if your a member of either)

Jake,

Yes, non-members can participate at our events by making a reservation during the "open" reservation period, which starts 8 days before (Friday) the event. Reservations can be made at our web site <!-- w --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.capitaldrivingclub.com">www.capitaldrivingclub.com</a><!-- w --> under the Schedule Section. Non-members can also get a reservation slot by having a member make a reservation for you as their guest.

The cost of participating at our event as a non-member is $35 at Summit Point (member rate is $30).

I'm not sure... I would guess some time on Friday, because the event is Saturday.

Sure thing, let's meet up right off of Route 7 and take that in to Winchester.

There is a stoplight on 7 right as you get into Ashburn-ish area. You will turn right on Belmont Ridge Road - from 7, you can see a shopping center with a big fountain. So, turn right at that light, and turn right in to the shopping center. There is parallel parking along the sides of the streets, so look for my car there.

If reg. and tech are at 8, we should plan to roll out of Lansdowne at 7 - it's a solid hour to Winchester from there. Meet at 6:45ish to leave by 7, at that shopping center.
