2009 Isle of Man TT
#1
Went to the TT this year, I HIGHLY recommend going. I will be going again next year. I will do a write up and pictures, but thought I'd throw out a teaser.

This is my buddy Jimmy, who got invited to race. He qualified, and finished w/o crashing, which is a feat in itself. AMA racer Scott Jensen, DEMOLISHED, and I mean DEMOLISHED both of his bikes, and ended up with a broken arm and about 30 screws in it.

Here's Jimmy - he's from dcsportbikes.net too, really really awesome guy. I am also editing a video that I took riding with him and another racer that raced about 8 TT's but crashed bad 3 years ago, and is still recouping. awesome video of two racers walking you through the course.

Quote:The American newcomer Scott Jensen broke both bones in his forearm in yesterdays crash and was scheduled for surgery today. Hes okay and in good spirits. They put his crashed motorcycle in front of his pits today and I can tell you with sincerely honesty, I have NEVER seen a motorcycle look like this after crash. It was torn into about six (6) large pieces. The forks ripped off the neck of the chassis, the forks were broken in three pieces each, the hub and spokes from the front wheel was broken out from the center of the rim, the swing arm was ripped off, the tank was smooshed flat. there were a hundred people standing around it at any time all day, just murmuring over it. Scott is a very lucky man to have crashed twice at the Isle of Man TT and leave with nothing but a broken arm and some screws. Holy moly.

double windscreen to give a little less pressure on the head.. 6 laps at that speed will put a toll on your neck

bottoming out on the jumps

Scott Jensen, AMA privateer, crashed both bikes ... 600 and 1000, broke his forearm in 2 places or something and tons of screws... he was LUCKY SOB

Jimmy, my buddy who was racing, his teammate Craig..

This front tire on CraigÔÇÖs bike has 10 psi in it and just came in after completing the 227 mile race. He started feeling it on the next to last lap. He was having to save it with his foot a few times in slow corners but it ÔÇ£seemed kind of OKÔÇØ in the fast ones so he stayed out and did the last lap like that. NUTTER!! It turned out that the valve stem cap was missing the o-ring seal. The valve core itself was OK and working normally, but apparently sustained running in 6th flat causes enough centrifugal force to push the pin down and let some air out. So a good valve cap is actually required.

it was amazing, everyone around there who comes to watch rides bikes, i saw 2 desmodecci's riding around like they were nothing, old bsa's old nortons, old everything, all types of awesome rare bikes.

the viewing is awesome, you can get anything your heard desires as far as motorcycle paraphernalia, the food is not that great Wink as for viewing, you REALLY need a car to get around or something, cuase it would be cool to see different corners you really have to pick a good spot. where we went it was a high speed corner so you get to see them top out and then bring it down to 100 to take the corner, I could reach out and hit them in the head had I wanted to.

next year we are going to try to bring some bikes over, or rent some bikes or something.

oh and everyone speaks english Wink so it makes life easeier
