"cant ride it no more cause of cops " but it's a non street bike? lol
Anyway...I want a sport bike I think. I have been riding motorcycles since I was probably 6 or 7, and used to ride my parent's harley's around when I still lived at home, but it's been a couple years. Problem is, there are a ton of acronyms, and it would help my craigslist search if I knew wtf was a dirtbike, versus cruiser, etc.
So what are the sport bike acronyms?

I would suggest defining your needs/wants a little better, checking the major manufacturers to see what suits you, and search for those specific bikes.
I (and many) would suggest an SV650s for a great starter bike that can still be considered a sport bike.
The only thing that stops a bad guy with a van is a good guy with a van
Do you think the model names stay the same from now, back say, 10 years? As far as displacement, I was looking for 600 on up, and I would likely use the bike a couple days a week commuting to work, but gas mileage isnt really a concern. Most of my commute is 45mph on up. Pretty rare I have to sit in traffic.
I really don't care if its an older bike, as long as its been fairly well maintained, not wrecked, and not re-painted. I feel like with bikes it's pretty easy to hide a wreck with a paintjob..fair assessment? I would probably want something full fairing I think. Now that I am 25, I don't think I'll get raped oninsurance costs versus having something with no front fairing right? I heard that makes a difference. I don't really know what else to say about preferences, maybe because I don't know the differences in sport bikes

Yes, model names haven't changed much over the past 10 years.
Honda
Suzuki
Kawasaki
Triumph
Yamaha
Buell
Ducati (their lower end)
Go to their sites, look at their models. Find a few you like, go sit on them. Since you're looking used, Google is your best bet for model info.
You will not be raped on insurance. Yes, more expensive to insure full-fairing.
Your assessments are fair. Be sure to check panel gap. Plastics can be new/used after a wreck. Brackets may not always be replaced.

SV650, Bandit 600, CBR600 (95 on up), are all great bikes to get started with.
I'm sure I'm forgetting a whole bunch of great starters, but just go out and look and see what you like.

Its a carbed bike. for that price, i'm sure something is wrong. even for a 2001. either that or sport bikes are cheap in WVa.

I mean..a carb rebuild kit is pretty cheap right? Or is it some matter of always having to F with them to get it right?

You dont need to rebuild them unless something is wrong...
If the bike is stock, no need to touch the jets/needles. If its got a pipe and an air filter then you need different jets. Either way, balancing the carbs once a year is a good idea.

Nuh uh... you just get cool popping noises on deceleration.

Hell, I like those cool popping noises on deceleration. I just happened to stumble across that bike, it seemed cheap, and i was always a fan of those, in that paint scheme, when thye were new.

Yeah, and then holes in your pistons.
That 750 looks like a pretty solid buy. Go get it.

Damn. I'm going to fuck with him for a while:
Hi,
the bike is in great condition, has been properly maintained, has never been laid down or abused in any way. It has a clear title and the price I`m selling it for is $2800, which is including all charges.
I used to live in Martinsburg but I`m currently working in the UK (London) and I`ll be moving here permanently within the next few months and I can`t afford the luxury of taking the bike with me so I decided to let it go.
I`m using a third party company called MoneyBookers LTD. to sell this bike, I left it at their warehouse before leaving to the UK. They are supervising the entire sale process from payment, shipping with a 14-day inspection period, returns (if needed) and refunding.
If you want to purchase it, let me know and I will explain you how MoneyBookers works and how we can move forward.
I will be waiting your email.
Thanks
