HELP QUICK!!!

So i'm in newport news right now, and as i got off 64 and came to the first traffic light i stalled out....wtf. well as i came to next one i realized the clutch pedal felt funny. well, it's engaging, but it's sticking and then releasing quickly for some reason. also, it feels softer than normal. so i'm thinking, "check fluid." lo and behold i cannot, for the life of me, find the freakin reservoir for the clutch fluid. it's a 1996 subaru legacy, can someone help me?????/

Should be pretty close to the brake fluid reservoir. Probably more towards the middle of the vehicle and a little lower. Unless it's a cable clutch haha

try to find something that would be in the area of the clutch on the firewall.

here's a picture example of the clutch slave cylinder of a subaru that could be attached to the resevoir:

it does appear the '96 legacy had a hydraulic clutch, so you shouldn't have to worry about the cable clutch

It's the thing in the bottom left of the page. Looks just like a smaller brake fluid reservior

That page is from a 99 Legacy so your's should be similar if not the same as in the picture of the reservoir

It's a clutch cable. You can see a cable coming out of the firewall opposite of the clutch pedal. If this is your first time driving a car with a clutch cable, they do feel different and engage lower. Push the clutch pedal all the way to the floor. It's not like an MR2 or Civic.

i've been driving the car for a long time and it's never done this before. it started acting up after the 195 miles on interstates.

ok, so it is a cable clutch. lucky for me, there's a bolt that goes through the clutch fork which is attached to the cable. and theres a nut that basically tightens the cable, determining where the clutch engages in the clutch pedal path. so all i did was tighten the nut, and it's now back to where it was. i'm guessing it just came loose during thed vibration of the long trip and needed to be adjusted. so. HUZZAH. only 3 more days of this freakin car...
