laptop keyboard question

my work laptop - dell latitude 620 - has a little mouse nub/nipple in the middle of it - how can i disable this damn thing?

i am typing with one hand and i keep hitting it.

on my Dell I double click the icon in the taskbar for the touchpad and disable the "Pointing stick".

i much prefer a nipple to a trackpad... (being serious). once you get used to it, it's far superior.

Maybe I'm old sk00l, but I don't know how people can use touchpads. I can't make them nearly sensitive enough to make them useful.

Some don't have that is the systray. If not, it should be in the pointer device setting in Control Panel.

I use a USB keyboard. it is much easier. Then I raise up my laptop on my desk, on a cardboard box. It enables me to put a plate of food in front of me, without it getting on the keyboard. I have a keyboard sliding tray as well, so I can push it in, when I want some food, or just need to use the mouse.
