Merely a formality. Grand Am was owned/run by Roger Edmondson who is a long time friend of Jim France and I believe some of the finances were already mixed anyway. It seems like they're just trying to consolidate.

Yeah it sounds almost like, "We sold Grand Am to, ourselves."
