The millions of deaths which occur every year due to the iPhone’s ability to stream the Kim K/Ray-J video in 4G could all be avoided, every last one of them, if the government issued everyone a Seventies 911 and made sure they always left the house five minutes later than they’d wanted to. It would help if it could be made to rain as well. Full attention on the road. Guaranteed." -Jack Baruth

Apoc Wrote:"mojo" ? :lol:Evan Wrote:should we start a pool on when the first time it goes If your motorcycle riding fate really hinges on superstition, maybe you guys should come to church with me one sunday. Anyway, obviously it was a joke. Damn you guys are cranky old women lately. I wish Gerald nothing but success in his motorcycling endeavors and hope his new bike brings much right-side-up joy, and right-side-down tail

It sounds awesome and looks even better. And it has that intoxicating "new engine" smell to it :-)

I had decided to pick up a 1000RR awhile ago I just couldn't find it in black. Someone at Honda had the brilliant idea to make it a limited edition color. That decision is all the more stupid when you look at how awful the rest of the colors other than red are. But yeah the bike looks a lot better in black. Especially since a lot of the little bits like the rearsets and passenger pegs are black too.
Styling-wise there are some angles that are unflattering but black really does make it look so much better. Up close the thing I like the most is that it has a lot of subtle but muscular curves to it. Anyway this is going to be TOV's first project bike so I'll be doing some articles on TOV about it, but I'll try to keep a project thread updated over here. Over the year I'll be doing some of the typical performance upgrades and a few appearance mods. The big thing I want to try is the Bazazz traction control system. I must admit I was kind of surprised at how easy it is to ride. From off throttle the power comes in a nice, smooth, unintimidating manner. Of course I haven't used full military power yet but it is still much stronger than the 600. Not as mean as I thought it'd be though. Handling wise it feels a touch harder to turn than the 600 at speed but below about 50 mph it feels just as nimble. It also feels a little bit taller. Ergonomics wise I think it's a bit better than the 600. Riding it 2 hours from HBG I didn't really have any aches or complaints. So far I'm pretty pleased with it.

Let me know if you want a hand... or you want to try to do a DYI fender eliminator on it.
