yeah... the premise is cool, but some of the stunts the producers have been pulling to make it "interesting" (read: soap opera) have been ridiculous.
-kicking fast guys off because they drop a wheel in a corner, while leaving women on WHO GET LAPPED.
-having corner workers in mucho dangerous stations and then telling a guy (who was bumped off) "anybody could have saved that" when he nearly hits one.
-changing racing rules IN THE MIDDLE OF THE FUCKING RACE
-randomly restarting in the middle of a race because people are too spread out. doesn't matter if you were a lap up on everybody before the restart... if you mess up the launch and end last, you're gone.
you also missed giant shenanigans about the "cute" (i thought she was ugly) girl. she was awful, but they kept her on for like an extra 3 shows because she wore skimpy clothes. after they finally booted her from the driving portion, they told her they'd like her to stick around for the remainder because she showed such "spirit."
fuck. it makes me angry to watch it.
on the plus side, those little solstices impress me.

I watched the first episode. it was terrible so i havent watched another one since. and it sounds like its only gotten worse.
The problem with shows like this is that the TV execs and marketing types get their hands on it and decide to start doing things to improve "the show" based on what they'd do for other types of shows. But you can't use the same techniques you used for American Idol for a show like this one.
It reminds me of the idiotic things they did on that Forza Motorsports show. Anyone who was in the motorsports industry (or even a reasonably intelligent monkey) could have easily come up with solutions to some of the problems they had but instead you had some knucklehead producers making a mess of things.

Those cars are crap, constantly breaking. The roll cage on that car that rolled failed miserably. This show is a joke with all the BS they pulled this season.

I'd be interested in everyone's thoughts on "how" it failed. What are you looking at that makes you say that? (I have it DVR'd and will take a closer look)
I'm not questioning your opinions, just the cars were prepped by Pratt&Miller so it would be interesting to hear what you all think.
I watched the season and got what I expected after the last season and what I get from TV in general...entertainment. Regardless of the antics they throw at them, I found it as easy to care about what happen to the drivers and how they handled it as I do about any fictional character I watch on another show. And Mike "Jr" is an active member on CF.com so I was pullin for him.

I have a little bit of a rub near lock but if you are turned to lock on a track there are other problems already...

I agree 10000000%. I didn't watch it for the racing, but I was entertained by the show. I mean, its essentially a reality show with a racing theme. I hate most reality shows but this one was actually entertaining to watch. I dont care for american idol because I dont sing and dance but I atleast can watch setup.

i didn't watch the whole episode but i'm easily entertained. like, as in i was walking past the TV and saw a big crash....so i thought "oooo cool" and sat down a watched a bit more. when i wasn't busy i'd sit down and watch more again.
if i was going to watch a series intently i'd be watching office space
