ITR Rear Sway Install
#1
So i bought an ITR sway bar and beaks sub frame kit a couple of weeks ago. I attempted the installation last night, which everyone says is real easy. Well its not.

The problem with upgrading the rear bar on a Integra is the stock mounting points are very weak. When upgrading the bar people often rip the spot welded nuts off of the subframe. So to fix this problem, there are many different type of sub frame reinforcement kits you can buy when upgrading the sway bar.
I opted for the beaks kit, which is one of the most commonly used ones besides the ASR.
The kit comes with 2 brackets that sandwich between the subframe to provide more contact for the sway bar to press against.

To make room for the new brackets the factory nuts thats are spot welded to the subframe have to be removed. The way everyone says to do this is by brute force. Take a chisel and a BHF (big fuckin hammer) and whack them off. Well I got 4 out of 6, the remaining 2 are cramped in a very tight spot that We couldn't hit very well. I got my dremal out and grind down most of what i could but there is still most of the nut still on the car.
My only other idea is to get a torch and get them red hot and knock it off. But have no access to a torch and to get the torch in the right spot i'd need the car real high off the ground or on a lift.

So does any body have any other ideas for removing these spot welded nuts? Or would someone be willing to finish the job for me? I don't mind paying someone and I honestly have very little time do to this in. Right now I have no rear sway bar. First autocross is March 15 so I'd like it done by then. Problem is i'll be leaving for spring break back down to Texas and I work Monday - Friday. I would be able to leave the car somewhere while i'm gone. If someone wants an extra 50-100 bucks please let me know.

Can you get a pair of vise-grip type pliers over the nut then hit the pliers? What about a really long flat-head screwdriver as a chisel? You could also try tightening a bolt into the nut and hitting the bolt.....IDK if that will work though. Pictures are worth 1000 words - without seeing the problem I really can't offer much solid advise..
Why do people just post what they are thinking? Without thinking.

Yeah I didn't have my camera with me last night, but ill try and get under the car to snap more pics if i can.
Ill be at VIR with the car not sure if anyone would be willing to lend a hand while im down there?
As for vise-grips, no go, definitely not enough room. Did the long screw driver for a little bit after breaking 3 we decided that was a bad idea.

Hitting the bolt while tighten only seemed to dent the whole subframe in, so i stopped doing that before it got to bent up. I also tried over tightening it but that just made it strip out, these are 12mm nuts btw.

All good advise tho.

when i had done my ITR rear bar, i just drilled out those spot welded nuts. but this was a long time ago so i cant exactly remember how the process went, but i remember it being relatively easy.

Yeah i was thinking about that too, i have a drill that would get the job done, I will have to remove the muffler to do it tho.. but im thinking this might be my next course of action.
