Pirelli PZero Nero M&S - The Blingy All Weather
#1
I had my first "deep" (5") snow experience with these tires yesterday and I was impressed with how well they performed. They were consistent and predictable and I had no problems with slowing down unlike several other people I saw out yesterday. I've got ~15k miles on mine and they're not invincible but they definitely add confidence to the mix of AWD/TC.

I know a lot of people around here run summer tires and/or swap to winter tires but these are great all year round. I'm not going to say they're as great dry as the best ultra high performance summer tire because they aren't... but if you don't track your street car you won't notice the difference.

If you're in the market, have a bit of cash to burn and don't want to change your tires for 3 years, get these. I used to run the Pilot Sport A/S and I'd recommend the Pirellis over them.

"Here, at last, is the cure for texting while driving. The millions of deaths which occur every year due to the iPhone’s ability to stream the Kim K/Ray-J video in 4G could all be avoided, every last one of them, if the government issued everyone a Seventies 911 and made sure they always left the house five minutes later than they’d wanted to. It would help if it could be made to rain as well. Full attention on the road. Guaranteed." -Jack Baruth

that is not a thread for reviews. it is a thread to post in saying "i need this, want to spend this, what should i get?"

if we were to follow your logic, all "project x" threads would be under one project thread.

Chris is being productive - he should be applauded Wink

And they're really not that expensive, I don't think. They seem like a pretty good deal for a grippy, big miles, all season tire.
When it comes to Ryan Jenkins, the story ends with me putting him in the wall.

...and I'm guessing the Royal Purple thread should be in the Oil Choices one? Maybe we should just have one thread for every part of the car and be done with it.

It's a matter of perspective. Personally, I don't think spending $700 (what my size cost) on tires that will last me 4 years (40k mile rating) is that much money when they'll do everything I ask of them. I know a lot of people who think spending more than $250 on a set of tires is a waste of money.

actually, it is. You even posted a review in it, Einstein.

now which is easier to find information and feedback on a tire, all in one thread, including options you might have not considered? Or do a search for every brand and model of tire?

Quote:if we were to follow your logic, all "project x" threads would be under one project thread.
is chris reviewing a project in this thread?
do people go and buy a project to install on their cars every 30k miles and frequently look for other's feelings on a project?

not even close to a comparison.

Chris gets a gold star for contributing something, but its not too much to ask to put it in the proper place to make it more accessible.

But hey, it was just a suggestion, so if it makes you all cranky, you can post your reviews in the appearance forum for all I care.

honestly, i'm not going to wade through that thread to find out about a particular tire. by chris posting his as a separate review, i now clearly have in my mind that "chris had some good all-season tires." it will be much easier to find that in the future...

bravo to chris for contributing.
poo on you for still trying to be a downer.

Yeah, lets not bitch about someone actually making the kind of thread worth reading please. Chris should link this thread to the other thread for reference though.

I ran these on my 18s for a while and liked them, quiet had tons of grip, but I found they wore very quickly, like in....4 months... Yes im harsh on tires.

They're actually louder than the Michelin, I think... but it depends largely on road surface. There's a section of road near my house that is rough paved due to construction and they're really loud there. I don't notice them elsewhere.

4 months!? How many miles is that?

I do about 10,000-12000 miles a year. So like...hmm 3-4000 miles?

PS- Ive never really had good michelins to compare them against, just shitty ebay tires and old all-seasons that take a long time to wear out, but have little grip compared to the pirellis.
