"Turbo Scion tC
Unwilling to wait for the car to actually go on sale, Performance Dealer Options already had a turbocharged version of the scion tC on display at SEMA's International Auto Saloon in Los Angeles last April. Sometimes impatience can be at least an interesting thing.
First, the tC looks like a natural when it comes to accommmodating oversize wheels and tires and an intercooler. In this case, the intercooler feeds a Turbonetics T3/T4E turbo controlled by an Evolution wastegate and Raptor BOV. PDO isn't making any claims for the turbo installion yet, beyond, of course, more than the normal 160-hp output of the tC's 2.4-liter, DOHC, VVTi four.
Beyond being blown, this tC features Tein coil-overs which lower the car a bit, Wilwood oversize 13-inch front brakes, and a set of Deep Racing D5R wheels wrapped in 225/35R-18 front and 245/35R-18 rear Toyo Proxes T1-S tires."
Sounds promising, what do you guys think?

hahahhaa i didn't even know it was FWD(scions website says nothing of which wheels are driven and in lorena's post she says the xB is AWD), i figured since the backs were wider it was definitely RWD, that piece is gonna be a wheelspin wonder. Lookin like a no go.

As stated in the last post where it was meantioned to be AWD. Niether the tC, xB, or xA are AWD. The will never be.

that is pretty hilarious, the staggered tires... I guess that's to correct all the horrible oversteer FWD cars are so prone to having? :roll: :lol:

The only good thing is that in about 5 years when these things start to pile up in junkyards there will be an influx of turbos to be used for projects. It will never get fast enough to need a set of 13 inch calipers and I can see absolutely no reason for the staggered wheels, or even needing wheels that wide other than giving the facade of RWD and letting owners get charged more when replacing tires.
Sounds like the tC is going to be a dud, just a little bit underpowered, but it still has great styling.

The Tc is not a bad car for the money.
You get an ass-load of features for the base price, and factory-warranty rice, if you're into that sort of thing.
But then it starts getting stupid. They're gonna need 18 inch wheels to fit around the 15 inch brakes that they have to have to stop their now-two-ton machines after loading it up with miscelleneous crap that serves no purpose save to make their high school buddies say "Yo, that is tyte!" and make neighborhoods go deaf from bass-tones and the 100 decibel diarrhea fart noises emanating from their "trick oval can" (to use the NAPA commercial venacular). And don't forget the naaaaaawzzzz so that they have enough power to merge without onto 81, talking on their digital-camera-equipped cell phone about the chick they banged last night, getting in my damned way so that I am forced to downshift and take agressive action to keep us both from meeting an untimely end.
On the other hand, I saw an Elise coming home yesterday. There is hope.
