Wheels Hangers... I Hate Them
#1
Whoever decided to use these freaking things instead of just putting studs on a hub is a damned Nazi bastard. Screw in the guide, hang the wheel, install 4 bolts, unscrew the guide, install last bolt... what an inefficient system! I like it even better when the one included with the car is made out of plastic and it snaps when it don't get the wheel on perfectly straight.

Like this, except it's plastic and at broken at a point inside the hub. I'm convinced they did it to get back at us for beating them in WWII. Well screw you Germany!

"Here, at last, is the cure for texting while driving. The millions of deaths which occur every year due to the iPhone’s ability to stream the Kim K/Ray-J video in 4G could all be avoided, every last one of them, if the government issued everyone a Seventies 911 and made sure they always left the house five minutes later than they’d wanted to. It would help if it could be made to rain as well. Full attention on the road. Guaranteed." -Jack Baruth

No... and I probably never will. I don't mess with anything that requires more than removing a few bolts.

I was having flashbacks to when we stripped the studs in the hub on my 944 at VIR this year. Luckily, because this hanger was plastic, I was able to beat it enough with a hammer and screwdriver to shatter it to pieces and blow it out.

You're right... it was my mom's. I managed to turn swapping over to winter tires into an hour long affair.

While I was at it I replaced the wiper assemblies on my wife's car... OMG!

Who does what? I made the mistake of allowing her to buy her own replacements and she came home with assemblies instead of blades. They were pretty cheap so she elected to install them rather than return and get just blades.

I guess ill clear this up, your assembly is considered your wiper arm. A replacement wiper BLADE is considered the refill and the metal or silicone or rubber that holds the refill to the arm. These are free install and run from 6.88 for el cheapos up to 21.88 (more usually for euro vehicles) for Bosch Icons per blade.

A wiper refill is just that, the slim piece of rubber that you have to pain in the ass put into the metal blade. These are not available free installation.

We replaced the blades (metal and silicone attached to the arm) but I still don't know who the "they" are... the auto parts store? I prefer just buying the refills and struggling to replace them.

I'll have to give those a try. I need to change because I couldn't see anything while trying to drive around during a blizzard yesterday. I know the solution is just don't drive... but how else would I go snowboarding?

Edit: I just realized my post is so far removed from the original topic that it's absurd.

I need some new wipers too. Do the rain x blades have anything to do with their product? because rain-x is junk.

If its streaking/fogging they didnt clean the windshield before putting it on. I've never had any of those issues.

I don't like Rain-X either. You can't use it with wipers and it wears off too easily.
