Need recommendations on a "detailing package"
#1
my dad's birthday is coming up and i want to get him some primo detailing stuff, because it's something he likes to do to pamper his car and he's running low on his normal fare.

i'd like any recommendations on vendors, products, packages, etc...i'm looking to spend around 50-75 bucks at most.

i was thinking of getting some P21S wax, some kind of good wash concentrate, a high quality wash mit, and some really good buffing rags/wax applicators. i might even pick up a thing or two for myself.

any help appreciated.

This kit has just about everything you were looking for minus the wash mit and towels- http://properautocare.com/p221detkit.html

I have ordered from properautocare.com before and they are always very good. I have also used autopia-carcare.com with great success. The Autopia site has loads of information and how-to articles too which is really helpful.

thanks! so no problems applying any of these by hand? my dad doesn't have any orbital buffers or power equipment.

no way...he'd cut right through his paint. he doesn't really have the time to learn something that involved either.

now as a gift for ME....hell yeah, i want one! i just need a garage, or a really really long extension cord......

I'm not too terribly familiar with it as I've only used it once or twice but from I remember it's really user friendly. That's what P21S is known for really. But at ~$30 for a little jar I would expect no less haha

You will not cut through paint with the orbital unless you have extremely thin clearcoat, you are at top speed, and you have a cutting pad. To get a Porter Cable would mean that you will need to spend at least $180 on pads and stuff to even use it.

What about a Zaino starter kit for protection?

what do you recommend for a starter kit? again, on a bit of a budget and has to be applicable by hand. thanks!
