So my gf left a diet coke on its side on the passenger seat of my truck, which leaked and left a nice big stain on the seat.
(or at least I hope its diet coke...)
I dont want to mess with over the counter foams and crap which will sort of work but not really, Id rather just take it to a professional with proper equipment and get it taken care of.
Does anyone have any experience with (or know of) any good auto upholstery cleaners or furniture cleaners who do cars too? No VA area would be good too.

Rent a steam cleaner or check to see if your parents have one. Those work the best and you don't have to pay some dbag to do it. You could use it on the rest of your cars and house.
Two feet.
hrm, everyone keeps pointing me to detailers. I can buy a bottle of the same cleaner they use and do it myself.
Maybe what Im looking for doesnt exist, but Im expecting something similar to the people who come into your house with big machines and clean your furniture and drapes.
What'd you do about the g/f? Good stern talkin' to in order?
and I second the steam cleaner

I saw that. Im just not convinced that a detailing shop is going to have the capability to do anything more heavy duty than a superficial cleaning. You also have to buy the other worthless crap that I can do myself in 10 minutes.

Can you? What about the steam cleaning (or whatever it is they use)? I can buy any exterior detailing products the 'pros' use, why couldnt I get the interior detailing stuff? And I know Ive seen it while buying wax and stuff so its there.
Everything has to turn into a debate here..... Id simply rather go with a more specialized stain removal service. If that service does not exist then I will start to look at other options, but Im not convinced (yet) that service doesnt exist.

Well it doesnt hurt to give them a call and see what they can do for you. You could also call Jon @ Curry's, they do detail business there too.

Most detail shops dont use the stuff that you can typically buy online, Meguiar's has another line of pro stuff. Is it more effective? I dont know, I've never used it.

its just diet coke. its mainly sugar and good gravy (ie: brown and water) i'm sure you can probably use some interior cleaning stuff you can buy OTC and then use a shop vac to get as much of it out as possible.

I was pointing out that you said something about steam cleaning machines and that the place says that use some kind of steam cleaning machine. I didn't mean to step on your toes.

you made a good point, I was just saying that Id rather look at more specialized options right now.
I may end up going that route though if they will only do the stains and not the other stuff.
I have stains on the drivers seat too from when I tried to drink a yellowjacket.....so might as well get those taken care of.

sugar, aspertane, whatever. one gives you cancer, one makes you fat. either way, you die.
regardless of that, its not like diet coke has concentrated sharpie ink or an oil based paint in it.

Most detailers specialize in stain removal, that's the point.
I can't say I've heard of a stain removal (only) business except for those murder-cleaner-uppers.

"Here, at last, is the cure for texting while driving. The millions of deaths which occur every year due to the iPhone’s ability to stream the Kim K/Ray-J video in 4G could all be avoided, every last one of them, if the government issued everyone a Seventies 911 and made sure they always left the house five minutes later than they’d wanted to. It would help if it could be made to rain as well. Full attention on the road. Guaranteed." -Jack Baruth

Most detailers specialize in stain removal, that's the point. O RLY? RJs link, which is probably the most professional detailer Ive seen (most are some guy with a buffer) doesnt even mention stain removal on their webiste or list of services.
When you hire a maid, do they get the stains out of your carpet? of course they dont, you hire a stain removal service.
moral of the story: im just going to call them (gasp, phone) and see what they say.

my limited research looks like its done often times by carpet cleaners
