SOLD!
Hey guys,
I'm posting this up for my best friend. He's had this bike for about a year, but is selling it because he doesn't drive it enough to keep it around. He's taken very good care of it and it's a really awesome looking bike in person. He used to be into motocross so he's a big gear head. This is copied from his CL ad. You can post back here with any questions or contact him directly at parsenau@vt.edu
$4300
Only 5640 miles. Excellent mechanical condition with some cosmetic issues. Bike was laid over on both sides by previous owner resulting in scuffs on the engine covers, mirrors, and light scratches on the plastic under the seat and on the front fender. Bike was resprayed all black. The imperfections are only noticable up close. Oil changed every 2000 miles and chain lubed every 400. Bike was always garaged as long as I owned it. All stock except for smoke windscreen and flush-mounted front turn signals. No personal checks or test rides. Cash or bank check only. Thank you for looking.

Yes. I've never let anyone test ride a bike for sale unless I have their cash in my hand. There's a lot of idiots out there on bikes, and crashing one is way too easy.

Yeah - I just figured proof of insurance and an M would've been good enough

Its not like a car... I dont even want to know if they have insurance or a motorcycle license as long as the money is green.

+1
There's not guarantee their insurance will cover your bike (or that they would even tell them) and an M endorsement is about as indicative of riding ability as well.... it just isn't an indication of anything. I think there are maybe 5 people in the world that I'd even let ride my bikes without giving me cash before they touched the keys.
When it comes to Ryan Jenkins, the story ends with me putting him in the wall.

Here is how my friend described this bike to me, for those who aren't familiar with it:
- It would be a good starter bike for someone looking for decent power in their first bike, or for people who have ridden other two-wheeled stuff before
- It's not the fastest bike on the road, sort of a mix between a crotch rocket and a cruiser, but it has plenty of usable power and is definitely quick....it's difficult to let this bike get away from you from a power standpoint
- Basically the little brother of the R6
- Very comfortable and agile
Is that pretty accurate? That's based on what I can remember from our conversations about it, so please don't take that verbatim.

yes, very accurate. the problem with it is anyone looking to spend 4200 has likely ridden before and this bike isn't enough for them... most beginners don't spend 4200 on their first bike... i guess what i'm saying is this bike falls in to an odd category.

Yeah that makes sense. I'm sure he'd be willing to negotiate a little on the price too if someone asked.
I would buy this and learn to ride if I didn't just buy a house hah

23.8%
HUGE difference compared to 25%!

:?: 25% may not be much in the scheme of most things, but when you're talking about base level bikes, there's not much difference between a "cheap" bike and an "expensive" one so 25% is pretty notable.

I don't know, I think I'm with mike on this one. To me at least, the difference between spending 4k on a bike and 3k on a bike is big. I spent 2400 on my bike, and was maybe even willing to go a little higher, but would not have come near 4k.
