Wheel offsets.

I'm trying to figure out 2 things.
1) Can I buy 0 offset wheels for the Miata. 0 offset Konig rewinds to be exact.
2) Can I use 15MM spacers for the MR2.

How exactly do I figure this out?

I have no problem with spacers, however I would highly recommend a longer stud than stock to ensure full thread contact on the nut. Plus, longer studs are easier to put the wheel on and get threaded.

1) Yes, and they're cheap. See NASA's "Konig Wheel Deal".
2) Probably...but why? Having clearance issues?

Pet peeve: mentioning wheel offset without mentioning wheel width (at a minimum) or diameter.

Whoa-ho!

Evan is right, I spoke too soon! If your bolt pattern was 4X114.3, you could indeed have 0 offset Rewinds! Alas, 4X100 is limited to +20 (15X7 ET+20)

which is moot anyway, since neither 0 or 20 will fit, unless Andy has turned into a mexican. Tongue

I bought some ARP studs for the MR2 so why not use spacers to increase the track. I'm taking a few months to put in a new trans, and sort out the suspension for good. I'm tired of driving this car with a dynamic suspension settings.

Damn, I really wanted the dish on the wheels. I don't really dig the Rewinds without the dish to them.

Are MR2 wheels hubcentric? If so make sure you at least get hubcentric spacers.

And if you can avoid it, don't use spacers. It puts more stress on the wheel bearings and all the goodies under there.

Look at the Rota RB's in 35mm for the Miata. They have a nice dish (i wish I would of kept mine)

Sadly, from what I was looking into, its now a sponsorship, not a simple discount.

What's sad about that? I'll take pictures of my car with four Konig stickers on it for 70 bucks a wheel.

A few stickers for cheap wheels does not bother me one bit. Telling me I have to attend a certain number of events every year so I can save a couple hundred bucks doesn't really sit well with me right now. It's great for a racer who will be there anyways, but I'm only interested in winning HPDE right now and if money is tight, I won't be driving on track.

...

I don't see anywhere in the agreement that says you must attend a certain number of events per year, nor does it define an event anywhere. Seems to me what konig thinks of as an event is any kind of official thing where your car is out in public. Car show, auto-x, HPDE, drag race, or a road course.

I only am hitting you with this because the Z NEEDS (!!!) some Rewinds.

don't worry, the Z is getting some sort panasport/rewind- looking set of wheels. But my interpretation of the agreement I read a few months ago was that I had to agree to a certain number of events and be "on call" to clear my schedule to represent their product at shows and such. That's all fine and dandy, but I won't commit to that right now.
Once I am ready for the wheels, I'll get in touch and see what the real deal is.

Regarding the MR2:

I used the wheel fitment calculator with this info

Current setup is 15x7et38 Kosei K1's
205/50/15 front
225/50/15 rear

I want to add 15mm spacers which according to the calculator would make the front .35mm tucked from flush and the 13.05 mm tucked from flush in the rear. Is this enough clearance or will the tires rub on the fenders. I don't have fender liners if that makes a difference.

fwiw, i got a set of the rewinds through the nasa deal. i dont even use these wheels on track. they didnt enclose the konig stickers so i cant even put them on. they included the center caps and hubcentric rings even though they said they would not and i havent sent them one picture or anything. if they ask for one, i'll provide one but like i said before, they never gave me konig stickers in the first place

sure, you could scam on Konig and just take some pics with the decals temporarily applied, but corporate support is so rare at the grassroots level that I think we should not only NOT scam them, but go out of our way to support the companies that support us.
