I have been watching this show the past couple Tuesdays on Speed Channel. Tonight they are doing a Honda Civic(7pm). They have previously done an Escalade, Nissan Sentra SE-R, BMW M3, and Subaru WRX STi. They graphics guy is kinda goofy, but other than that I like the show. They are also given a $5000 budget. Comments?

Not a particularly big fan.
Rex and I sat down one evening and watched them convert a 240 into an incredible car. They did an SR swap and never said a word about the difficulty that could pose, as well as numerous other upgrades that could have been discussed in further detail but were not. Instead they threw fits over the body kit and wheels, instead of talking about the actual cool stuff they were doing to the car. I've noticed to be a common trend for this show from what little I've seen though.
Other than that, decent show.
I watched one episode.
They put a set of reeeeeeeeeeeumz, some vinyl, and a nawwwwzzz kit on an RX-8. It was suddenly "transformed".

The premise is a good idea but I hate how they have fake, staged arguments over what they're going to do with the car. "I NEED $1000 OF THE BUDGET FOR GRAPHICS ASSHOLE!!!" Puhlease  .
Sometimes they do okay but its the kind of show I'd watch if I had nothing else to do.
Then there's the fact that the guy with the RX-8 in question kind of got screwed over: http://insider.speedtv.com/viewtopic.ph ... d95e251eed
hell no.
When they were "tuning" the Neon SRT4,
The "engine" guy pulled a big turbo out of a box to show to the camera. The host guy asked him why they were replacing the turbo, and he replied. "because its stock. friends dont let friends drive STOCK"
Needless to say, I was impressed with his technical knowledge.
yeah. good show. good for a laugh, that is.
worst show ever. i saw the rx8 one.

That's awesome! I hadn't heard about that. Nice show there. Now Pimp My Ride is where it's at! Did you see that bubble blower exhaust or the center console coffee maker or the plastic geegaw chandelier? All quality stuff I plan to incorporate in my E30 for sure.

It was worse than that. One screen, they had the engine on a stand. The next scene NO SHIT 5 SECONDS LATER! They were finishing screwing in the the spark plug well cover and said "Well, that's done."
I hate this show. Hatehatehate.

I've watched it a few times and caught the end of the civic show last night. As everyone else has mentioned, as soon as I see the grapics and wings come out, I go nuts...
You should watch Sports Car Revolution. It was on just after tuner transformation. Last night they featured an RSX with a stop-tech setup from the guys at stop-tech. Its more track oriented and also features new stock sports cars at the limits on track.
It sure is good to be home again and have Speed. Got to see V. Rossi win his motorcycle race the other day (forget which race)

Even tho that Kazz guy is a bit annoying and sometimes they don't address the stuff that matters SCR is a much better show. The project car is being done very well in comparison to Tuner Transformation.
The last Moto GP race was at Catalunya and Rossi pulled out yet another hard fought victory against Sete Gibernau. These guys were seriously nose-to-tail the entire race and swapped positions several times. Gibernau still leads Rossi by 5 points in the championship. Unfortunately Nicky Hayden (who qualified on the front row) dropped out early with a punctured radiator. Colin Edwards (the other top American rider) finished 5th.
It should be interesting to see how this year's championship plays out. I'm still not sure what Honda rider is getting the full factory support yet. If HRC keeps screwing around and not backing anybody (which of course should be Gibernau) then Rossi might be able to take the championship because he has certainly got full factory support from Yamaha.
so all you people with speed channel can go to hell. i can always watch stupid 2nerz on spike or something...

The point is not whether AGP "fucks around" or not, and nor do I give a shit if they do. I dont care if they put a jet turbine on the car, they better bring the tech, and not spout off crap while looking like a clueless fucktard.
Evan Wrote:they better bring the tech
Goddamn right!
But they dont care. The show is about image. The image of doing stuff that most ricers (my chit's fast cuz its lowered and got intakeheaderexhaustandreeeeeeeeeeeeeeumz!) wont ever do.

Evan, here is a little tip. Don't be an asshat.
Yeah, I pulled that word out of the past because it fits you.
If you are going to whine like a little girl when a fucking television show fails to go into detail about something then stop watching television.
The nature of that medium is not to truly inform.
If you are going to continue on after that and
(I keep using the word if, but you already have and probably will again in the future)
do anything other than hand out 'thanks' to someone such as myself, when he/she has directed you towards the company that supplied the turbo and could in turn supply you with anything you wanted to know about it, then kill yourself.
I know you just wanted to whine like a little bitch about a show which fails to cater to the automotive elite such as yourself and when I presented you with the missing information it went against your goal which is to show yourself off as someone whose opinion matters and for that I am sorry.
I did not see the show so I cannot determine whether Ben from AGP did present himself as a "clueless fucktard." But I am happy to see that you are trying to pick up where he might fail.
