I have the Peake tool...plugs into the diagnostic port for all BMW's from like 87 to 2000 or something.
When do you need it? I'm actually gonna lend it to a dude on the internet for awhile at the end of this week.

you can rent it for free* from autozone
*they require a deposit and you get your money back when you return it. i did this when my civic threw a code about 3k miles from home and i needed to find out what it was
