MM Adopt-a-highway?
#1
I had a thought while driving over 33W the other day, MM should adopt a highway as a service project. Would you (the membership) be willing to do something like that? Maybe we could get a winding country road or something and kind of make it "ours" by keeping it up. I think it would be fun and it could serve as something to mention as a community outreach.

Why do people just post what they are thinking? Without thinking.

Obviously, I can't speak for everyone else, but I think something like that would be a great idea.

I would totally be up to helping out with that project if others are interested.

while i'm all for it, is it like pulling teeth to get people to clean up the convo center (closer, most likely for most people) for less time (an hour i think the last thread stated) at night (as opposed to a morning or afternoon) and getting paid to do it (as opposed to paying to adopt a highway). its a good gesture, but we'd really have to evaluate our commitment to it.

i'm just playing devils advocate though

While no one wants to get burnt twice doing the same thing one cannot dwell on a past failure as a reason not to ever try something else. If we did that we'd never achieve anything.

I think its good to be cautious about what we commit to but at the same time we should take advantage of new opportunities. If enough people are committed, interested and gung ho about doing this then go for it.

We had 19, we need 20. Last time we also just barely cut the mark at 20 as Rex said. I'm with Maeng on this one, we would need to evaluate our commitment to something like this, because I heard a fair bit of moaning about cleaning up the convo center. If we have enough of the member base that would come down to do things like this, I'd be all for it.
